I wouldnt say the interviewer interrupted, she raised a point and Christopher answered mid flow. She did well to continue her question/point :)

Thank you. Quite interesting. The interviewer was good - but she did interrupt a little too much. Just wanted to give my "critique" - thank you. It was a fascinating interview.

hitchens studied economics at oxford. that doesn't say much in itself, as i'm sure there's oxford students who studied it&didn't understand a thing they were doing, as is often the case with academia. but hitchens has powerful intellectual capacity to say the least. i myself am a bit nervous about reading marx, i think i might come out of it more blind than i was to start with. might stick with ignorance&hazy marx slogans like "each working to their ability & receiving according to their needs".

I have heard it said that people on conversvative on topics they know very well. I wonder if Hitchens took the right wing position on Iraq because he had been there many times, knew about the struggles of the Kurds and other people in the region.

Terrific interview. I wish she had gone more into the Marxist bit because I think Christopher was being superficial there, but then you have to know economy which I don't suppose either of them really does, so that's OK:
