I'm 58 years old now! When this song came out back in the 1980's, this song was BANGING all over! I always love this song. I wonder if the younger generation now, have ever dropped their moves to this track?

    • @jacobcrumb3323

The younger generation don’t even talk to each other let alone get their electric boogie on!
Just love that 8 Track recording with a maximum 3 second sampling capability

This was the black urban version of punk. Do it yourself attitudes. They created the scene themselves. Record companies were confused, they created their own style of street fashion, their own dance routines and moves. It was fresh and exciting and original. And it was fun!!

While I just missed these times, I was really young back then. My time was the 1990's and you better believe when breaking came back in the late 1990's-early-2000's I was all about it. I was popping and locking all over the underground rave scene in Miami, Tampa, Orlando, and Jacksonville. I was damn good... One thing is for sure, things aren't like this anymore.
Kid's today are an absolute bore fest. If they're not watching and trying to emulate idiocy on Tik Tok they're pitching a bitch about politics. What kind of a life is that? Well...whatever, we Gen X'ers knew how to do it right. Case in point- this awesome music video brought to you by Generation X.

I love 80s and 90s hip hop and rap, and at primary school in our assembly hall as small kids Hey You by the Rock Steady Crew was in the chart, and some of the boys and me (no other girls would try) tried to emulate the breakdance moves on the slippery parqueted floor, and we were rubbish and looked like turtles on our backs lol legs akimbo and flailing! I was way better at robot dancing and body popping.
Brings back those slippery hall memories! Great stuff and to see teens in the vid doing it properly.
