    Bandit vxl has a special spot in my heart lol, it's a beast! And some brag on the new vorteks, my only issue with the bandit is keeping the anaconda tires ,I get probably 10 solid 20 min runs, and I got the purple one you got, people just dont realize what a hidden gem the bandit really is! I bought the xl5 cause i had a new mamba max 6s system laying around was going to put it in my mini erevo but didn't and i threw it in the bandit instead , its crazy as hell on 6s got no where to run it around my area.. these cars are strong and reliable, the bandit VXL is a beast out of the box on 3s ive always wanted one but i had the mamba system anyway so i got the cheap xl5 bandit . Cost me 200 for the car new and 300 for the mamba max new.. but I'm happy with it . Doing upgrades to the suspension, transmission and wheels in the future..

    Love the comparison! Amazing video. I bought the same bandit after your recommendation and haven't changed much other than anaconda tires, wheelie bars and weights for the front to keep it down and set the suspension for speed runs and it's a space ship!! That’s why I love driving the bandit vxl so much, there’s no other 2WD Rc that I know of that can hold a 55mph wheelie all the way down the street! So in the grand scheme of things, I guess the only time steering trim would matter would be right before lift off lol!👍🚀

Interested to see how it performs with the other gearing that was included. Nice video. For speed runs the 2WD cars have always got an advantage with fewer moving parts and very little friction in the drivetrain. Also the Typhon is a bit of a tank and quite heavy. I tend to think of it as a truck disguised as a buggy! Anyway quite a difference. You could swap out the whole power module from your Senton as that has a 20t pinion as standard. Probably a few more mph to be had :-)

    • @rcreviews9894
      @rcreviews9894  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks, you are definitely right about that, 2wd Rc’s tend to be faster, that is their strengths but their weakness is on the ramp, because they are only 2wd they are hard to control in the air in my opinion, but I love em all they all have a place in my collection

    Mine Rips! Bought it just for fun. Fastest out of all my RCs. I used the 31t pinion with 6oz of fishing weights taped between the front shock mounts with NO Wheelie bar & TAKE the Wing off. Anaconda tires broke bead on mine. The wing actually starts lifting the tires off the ground around 35 mph.

      Yeah I actually picked up a few pinions for it and I got a 31t as well but I haven’t had a chance to install it, I bought a RedCat 64 that came with some flat weights, I might mount those on the front of the chassis and try it out, the wing would definitely have to go and the wheelie bar at it’s lowest setting, have you done a speed test on it? With a 31 tooth your probably hitting close to 80mph!

    And I know this was 3 months ago, but my typhon 3s V3, the servo went out the second run, so waited 2 months on backorder, when it came in, the 4th run the motor seized up. Another 3 months before the backordered replacement. So far the replaced motor has been good and the servo has been replaced with an eco after the replacement went bad. Bought on Dec 23rd and have now only gotten to run it a total of 3 of the 8 months I've had it. And they should not advertise the pinion and spur housing to keep debris out. I've never had an rc that got so much debris in with the gears unless it was a traxxas slash xl-5 with the motor hanging out the rear.

    The bandit is cool bc it's cheap and 2wd which is hard to get unless you build a kit that starts at 349 for Associated for example, 2wd is fun on tracks imo. Also its rear motor like old school buggies and rear cab like old school buggies. You really cant go wrong, its one of a kind in todays RC offerings...

  • @JDoucette
    @JDoucette 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Would the Bandit go faster if it was not doing wheelies? Is it possible to apply throttle incrementally to avoid it, and thus achieve max speed with the better aero? Or maybe having the extra friction from the front tires is worse than the air resistance of the wheelie? Could you spin one of the front tires and see how long the ball bearing allow it to spin freely? I used to have a Kyosho Hi-Rider Corvette, and the bearings were so smooth the wheels would spin for well over a minute, and when it finally slowed, it would act like a pendulum, swinging back and forth, and find the heavy spot on the tire. Curious if quality remains on today's RTR models.

    • @rcreviews9894
      @rcreviews9894  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well yes and no, you could increase speed in increments but to achieve the top speed you will eventually hit full throttle and inevitably go into a wheelie, most people weigh down the front end to prevent that and yes it would technically go faster down on all fours because it wouldn’t be fighting against the wind like it would if the front end was up, the bandit vxl, for the price and simplicity of its build quality is an outstanding value for the beginner and expert and that is why it is one of my favorite Rc’s in the Traxxas line, O and did I mention it’s fast lol

    • @mariopuzo4509

    Considering that, the wheelie bar was working at full swing, the only way to properly meter the speed on that Bandit, would be, with a perfectly controlled throttle, keeping the front wheels down and the vehicle "planted", the entire run. I say this because, that Bandit, is clearly falling back, onto that wheelie bar, causing your rear wheels to slightly bounce, causing a loss in traction. While keeping the front end down (clearly) looks difficult to do, keep practicing on your throttle response. I'm confident, that, your Bandit, could do 57-58mph.
    I just realized that, this video, is a year old.............Shit LOL. Good video, anyway, dude.
