    My money is still on Ukraine. You can win a thousand battles and still lose a war. The US won every battle in Vietnam and still lost. The British Empire won most of the battles in the revolutionary war and still lost. The very fact that Ukraine is still in the war 3 years after they were given 3 days is heroic. They have at the very least, avoided a repeat of the 1917 -21 war against the Bolsheviks. By that metric they have already won. Yes Russia is advancing and losing too many soldiers to keep up with for long. Russia can not afford another mobilisation while Ukraine could. Another issue is equipment. Russia is haemorrhaging equipment while Ukraine doesn't have enough due to a lock of real commitment by supporting countries. If Ukraine was fully supplied with equipment Russia would be removed from all Ukrainian territory quite quickly. Maybe in as short of 6 months. The only reason the war has gone on so long is a lack of equipment for the Ukrainians and hesitation by the countries supporting Ukraine.

      I wonder why we don't hear anything about the F-16s supplied to Ukraine. I realize this is mostly a ground war of attrition but it was talked as though these aircraft would be a game changer. Yet the only news (I've seen) is early on one was lost along with the pilot.

    • @jeffPeters-ue8wi
      @jeffPeters-ue8wi 6 วันที่ผ่านมา +7

      @@MikeNaples American propaganda has alot todo with this mismatch between what is advertised and what actually happens.
      America touted its effort in Ukraine as Lend-Lease but of course it pales in comparison to the Lend lease of WW2.
      They are constantly raising attention for systems such as Javelin, Abrams, Bradley and Patriot. However only the Bradleys
      were supplied in enough numbers to be worth a mention. As for the F16's, note the United States has not provided or led the effort
      to provide these fighter jets. So the weapon system is in Ukraine but in name only.
      For years the US has devoted astronomical sums to protect from the great Russian army. Now here comes Ukraine obliterating the paper tiger
      on the cheap. It is not certain the Americans are fully on board with the idea of Ukraine eliminating the Russian threat.

Recruitment of volunteers in the Moscow area is down 80%, most volunteers travelled to Moscow to sign up as it pays the highest bonuses and the bonuses get smaller as you move away. Instead of 200/250 volunteers a day it is now 40 to 50. This guy theorizes that Putin is willing and able to keep on throwing more of his people into the meat grinder as a way of showing the rest if the world that he's crazy enough to keep on going with this war, and that he can do so bc Russia has such a large number of people. But consider four trends that have emerged over the course of the war: 1. Russian armored vehicle quantities and quality have been declining, forcing them to use fewer vehicles, causing casualty rates to rise and per-soldier battlefield effect to drop. 2. New soldiers have become less well-trained, also contributing to the same effects. 3. Per-soldier contract prices have risen. 4. Russian inflation has risen and overall economic prospects have been worsening. Multiply those four factors together and you get increased cost per soldier, diminishing returns per soldier, and an accelerating approach to financial collapse. No matter how crazy its leader is, when money runs out and no more credit can be acquired, that country's war effort is over bc their war machine has run out of gas.

    At 11:50 Donald Trump's staff are now saying that their intervention in the war will take "100 days, or 6 months"
    When I was at school, it was generally recognised that an average month was about 30 days, so six of them would be rather more than 100 days - but one way or another, it seems to have slipped somewhat from 24 hours to 100 days, or possibly 6 months (which is almost twice "100 days") - but rest assured, when the war has continued for 6 moths after Donald Trump's inauguration, he will come up with a different story to show how he vanquished his enemies, and all his followers will raise a great cheer for the mighty Donald, although in reality, nothing has happened.

    The Europeans are a group of fantastically wealthy countries. If they don't want Ukraine to fall there is an easy solution. Let them allocate massive amounts of capital to defending Ukraine. Of course that would require some belt tightening in their social welfare states. Something apparently unacceptable to the European populations. In fact, for starters why don't the Europeans stop sending $1 billion in hard currency a day to Russia in return for natural gas. The Europeans failed in building and maintaining strong military forces. They have created vast welfare states rather than invest in their own defense. Rather than beg the US for more aid to Ukraine, they can spend more on their military. The US is no longer willing to support freeloaders around the world.

After the mass sprinf offensive in 1918 the german army was wasted 2). the home front in germany was collapsing hunger riots, naval mutiny, and complete loss of morale of the german troops all culminated in the fall/autumn of 1918 just as the allies started their offensive. Get your historic parallels right.
