Jon, that was great. Thanks for taking time to put it together and share your knowledge with us. What was that knot again?

Thanks man, here's a tip for you: You're holding that rod pretty high... Two fingers above the reel and two below is proper stance.

Great video Jon! Interesting to see some of your unique tips on dropshot fishing. What knot is that you're using for the hook?

A helpful hint to eliminate line loops on a spinning reel is to close your bail just before your lure hits the water. It will tighten the line up and eliminate those pesky loops when you start to real in . Try it ,it really works. Cheers.

Not with a drop shot. You want that Bait to fall straight down. If you close the bail when it hits the water the bait will pendulum back to you. You will miss a lot of bites this way, especially in the summer time in 20ft of water

@@quantumguy82 preach! The best way to prevent tangles on a spinning rod is to put it on ur reel counter clockwise. Then when filled with line loosen ur drag all the way until the cap comes off, the spool of line will come off with it. Soak the whole thing in warm water for a couple mins. Put it back together and promise it will never get tangled up.

Anybody drop shot with a circle hook as he does here- any feedback?

Nope, i dont like circle drop shotting. Always use a wide gap. Owner Mosquito are great hooks and what I would recommend. Also size 2 is likely the largest you need. Drop shoting is finesse and no point going to larger hooks. Sometimes we drop down to size 6. Also when he said when fish are negative and 4 inches from the bottom I wouldn't be using a drop shot. I would be throwing a tube covering more water and beefing up my gear.
