You are great! Are you sure you are using a circle hook?
How deep are you fishing that a 3/8 oz weight can hit bottom in the detroit river current?
Thought drop shot was banned in rivers in Michigan a cpl years ago
You tube is free
I’m new to drop shotting, so I’m confused about the bite, do you feel the bite? Or are you watching the line for movement?
Thanks for the awesome video! I'm going to try this tomorrow morning!
Thank you for the info. I will implement this technique.
im new to this how about a video on how to actually tie the hook on
Awesomeness thanks for sharing your dialed in to that rig wow!!!!!
what drop shot knot are you using, not a palomar with the tag end back through the eye to the weight
love fishing the Maumee
Are you controlling the drift like jigging or spot locked Jon?
Drifting
New to jigging only done it twice hopefully I can remember what I just heard might have to play this in the boat
Do you actually use a swivel or can I use a FG knot or could I use a Alberto knot? Please let me know because I don't want to be that one person that looks stupid out on the water...
Swivel
You're the man jon
🔥🔥🔥
👍👍 Great info!! Thanks Jon.
Great info, much appreciated!
Great Job there Jon. Sorry I could not show up in person. See ya on the H20
Nice video. I am surprised you don't need a stinger hook on it though. Each time I jigged the D I needed the stinger.
Bro is the goat of catching walleye 😎💪🏾🔥🔥🔥 subscribing & following your lead captain!
One heck of a good video!!! Thanks
Great video Jon! I assume since you are fishing the bottom, time of day doesn't matter as much?
Do you ever use a stinger ? TC
After some unhelpful comments I found it with a simple google search. Drop-Shotting: The practice of having a weight suspended below a single-pointed hook that is tied directly to the main fishing line is lawful on inland lakes, drowned river mouths, Great Lakes and Great Lakes Connecting Waters only. This gear may not be used on rivers or streams.
What size and color Bondy worm are you using there? Tried to find it on your site but, couldnt find the exact color you had.
Purple Rain 3.75”
Hey Sizzlechest, great to see you built a huge fishing empire. Very happy for all your success.
Get out of the boat and push us off the sandbar!!
Are dropshots legal in Detroit? They’re not allowed in any other river in Michigan? Edit- they are allowed on Great Lakes connected water ways, but not rivers. With boats a connected waterway has to be 2.5 miles wide. Not sure if that’s the same for fishing rules. Seems like it would be. So most rivers connected to a Great Lake are not “connected waterways”. Detroit isn’t 2.5 wide, but maybe has special status with all the international shipping?
Since when?
@@fatherpetey2866 How would I know that or care? It’s in the 2023 fishing book in a dropshotting section. Someone showed me after I talked about using dropshots in another river.
@@sparxsdiesel it's not in there. Learn to read guy

Ok I’ll get a hooked on phonics tape ordered. Thanks
Thanks for sharing.
Another great video thx for the tips!
Gonna try it...thanks for the schoolin!
awesome vid Jon
Happy to support local! Thank you for the tips
Awesome video Jon ! Another one of your many alternate ways to catch walleye, thanks for sharing 🎣
Would this set up with the 3/8ths weight work in the stronger current of StClair river? Or would I have to bump the weight up ?Thanks.
I can’t answer for him, but I believe you adjust your boat speed in order to keep your line vertical.
Can’t go wrong with 5/8s to one ounce weight from 15’to 50’. Three hooks in Michigan waters 😃😃. Nice video Jon. Love your plastics 🎣🎣🐟🐟😃
Nice video! I will have to pick some of your new worms up. Nicely done!
Yes because there is nothing attached to the weight like buoyant plastic is where on a jig so you don’t need as much.
What was the hook knott please?
Nice. Good job. Looking forward to giving it a try.
Always looking for something new to try. Thanks for going into so much detail!
Thanks man, here's a tip for you: You're holding that rod pretty high... Two fingers above the reel and two below is proper stance.
Very well put together, short and to the point. Thanks.Jakeo
You make great content brother!!! Lord Bless!
Easily one of the most instructive videos out there. Excellent. Thank you.
Thanks Jon. Your a great teacher!
Excellent video, clear , informative and easy to follow 🎣
Good stuff!!
Looks like some nice yaks! Having fished out of a kayak for 4-5 years myself I can say I would absolutely jump up to a kayak with a pedal drive if I were to buy a new one. The ability to move without a paddle is priceless.
Great video Jon! Those days when sturgeon are jumping is the complete opposite for me. I struggle BAD on those days lol. Loving my Tactical Drop Shot Rod!
A legend speaks. We listen.
Anybody drop shot with a circle hook as he does here- any feedback?
Nope, i dont like circle drop shotting. Always use a wide gap. Owner Mosquito are great hooks and what I would recommend. Also size 2 is likely the largest you need. Drop shoting is finesse and no point going to larger hooks. Sometimes we drop down to size 6. Also when he said when fish are negative and 4 inches from the bottom I wouldn't be using a drop shot. I would be throwing a tube covering more water and beefing up my gear.
Best drop shot video I've seen.
👍 great technique!!
