Great video... I'm also a pen nerd, camera nerd, stationery nerd, watch nerd, etc and it's great to see that you're interested in other things too. It all adds another dimension to our personality and makes us more interested and interesting. Thank you for this and please... tell us more.
I find it interesting that a lot of people have similar interests. I have always been fascinated with mechanical things, I to use old pens and prefer wind up watches as well. Cheers
I went to school in the 80s in Germany, and we all had to learn writing with a fountain pen. Kids nowadays likely don't even know what a fountain pen is. I never owned a Montblanc pen though.
Thank you my friend for another fascinating and educational video. I write with a fountain pen every day and try to make time to photograph with the same MP240 I purchased before the last class I attended with you in NYC. The pleasure of small movements. But I don't have a mechanical pencil, an error I'm now going to have to correct. Happy birthday to your son!!
Leica and Fuji cameras, Montblanc pens and Swiss watches the things I like most. Then come leather straps, camera bags and Moleskine notebooks. What can I do? Thanks for the story, I liked it!
I used to have multiple notebooks for various subjects, but I switched to a Levenger Circa Notebook system to avoid so many notebooks. They also have fantastic fountain pens and pencils. BTW, I decided to save for the Leica Q2 after your recommendation last week. I should have it by the end of the year.😊
Can't say I'm a pen enthusiast or collector, but just an owner with a dozen or two of pens that I like to own and write with. As with the Montblanc, I have a few such as the Jewel Mozart (as a pocket pen), Rouge & Noir BP (for jotting, hacked Gel refill) and 146 for regular use. The Noblesse & 75th Anniversary now and then. However, the pen that fits my hand the best is the Yard-O-Led Retro.
Fountain pens are addicting, you don't need more than one but you end up with several. I like notebooks that has a nice leather cover, and refillable paper.
Yes, it's Henri Cartier-Bresson on a rooftop in New York, The tape doesn't cover the frame selector or the frame lines light. Don't know why, looks like the top plate is also taped to stay in place :-)
I have been writing and collecting fountain pens and pencils / Sketch pencils, for over ten years, you should check out the visconti / homosapien collection, I have the snake version of mont blanc in coral color..., but my biggest fear, is to shift from DSLR and all the lenses I have (7) top notch ones, to a range finder Leica, I would love to, but I am very worried I would be disappointed. I live in Cairo, so I cannot rent one, non are available to try. Any advice on that ! Thank you
You may want to take a look at Visconti Homo Sapiens series. I have Mont Blanc fountain pens and also enjoy them as well. Both make amazing writers and for everyday use.
Mark Wylie yes I’m left eye dominant, but I’ve learned to also shoot with my right eye because I love rangefinder cameras! The only difference for me is when I shoot right eyed I need to close both eyes when I’m taking the shot; but when I shoot left eyed I can keep both open and still frame clearly.
Please if you are going to make a journal please do Dot Grid pattern and not just regular ruled line one. You could even do a graph and blank one too total of 4!!!! With the leather bound HARD COVERS! One that can have its own patina it doesn’t have to be thick leather it can be thin. Also the paper do something like Rhodia or even Midori journals I think those papers are the best nothing best either of them.
Now I understand my Leica obsession…it’s from my MontBlanc obsession! They do seem to belong together. 😊
Leica’s and fountain pens. Two very elegant tools.

Loved this upload because I am also into fountain pens. Would love to see more of your collection and your writing. Sorry if this sounds weird. Haha

I think typewriters, dial phones and fountain pens are old school, but when today's kids get to try them, they love it :-)
Extremely Interesting. I totally agree about the connection. Fascinating.

I enjoy your videos. Specially in times like this. Thank you 🙏
Nice post as I photograph with a Leica and always write with a MontBlanc I got from my father :-)

Mark Wylie But that notebook system is sooooo effective. 😉

I was reading the definitions.. is that translated from Dänisch to English?
I'm happy with my rotrings and lamys but that sketch pencil got me interested.
At 1.39 the Leica user put some tape on the frame selector indicator to block for more simplier view....

That's a tough situation to be in. I suppose you will just have to wait until you can travel. 👍

Reach out to field Notes brand. They have amazing paper and might work with you to design your own notebook. That would be an amazing collaboration!!
So strange. My 2 most prominent hobbies are Photography (cameras) and Writing (Fountain Pens)...
Hi from 🇨🇦! Fountain pens and left handers don’t get along well - I found that out years ago!

There is research that shows that writing by hand activates your brain, but typing on a keyboard degrades it.
