Being able to platinum or 100% a game in 25-30 hours is insane! That’s an acceptable length for a campaign but not for a platinum. The game should not be $70 and I’m not buying it until it goes on sale.
@@jingleballs9935I played Witcher 3 for 5h before quitting because it was slow and clunky, can't speak much for the game after this, but if it's like those 5h then there is a clear reason why the game is long and it's not just "hard work". In most super long games, even the ones I love like Persona 5 and in most open world games, if you take out the slow traveling, the grinding and if you increase the pace of the games in general to match that of Spider-Man and other linear games, you would get a much shorter game. I don't doubt that there is more work in Witcher 3 then Spider-Man, but I seriously doubt that it had more work put into it then God of War and TLOU2 and those games are much shorter, so it isn't work alone. To get my point across better, just think how much shorter Super Mario 64 would be if you could collect every star in one go without being booted off the level and think about the fact that this feature would require more work.

I know you guys have talked about the extra effort put into some videos, but it definitely shows and elevates the product. I'm so hyped for this. I've been playing games on my PS4 Pro and on my pc which needs to be upgraded, was barely running them. I finally got a PS5 and an Oled tv. I'm so impressed with the PS5, UI is great, some fantastic quality-of-life improvements. Really feels like a big upgrade on the ps4 and Spider-Man 2 is here! going to look beautiful on my Oled. Can't wait!

Has it not been buggy as hell for anyone else?! I feel like I'm going crazy. I had to "restart from checkpoint" like 3 times just during the opening sequence. It kept getting locked up and wasn't triggering cut scenes. And an on-screen notification got stuck in a cycle of popping on then rolling off throughout a mission and even continued into subsequent cut scenes. It makes me not want to continue playing.
60 hours deep, no platinum, 100% district comp, all Side Missions done, i have 100% in suits. Im still trying to glide to the financial district lol TTP really comes down to how much u enjoy, im just looking for crimes to try out different fight skills and suit powers lol took me 9 days total, 2 kids, 1 job, 1 cat. 🎉🎉🎉 to Insomniac, GOTY nominee, probable winner.

October 20th is an worldwide Spider-Man holiday and as far as I’m concerned, we’re all Spider-Man coming midnight this Friday.

Finished the game at 2am this morning ans have to say it's an incredible experience. I 100% agree with everything tim says but sometimes the game was buggy which made me restart check points or even the part when miles gains his last ability the burtone would not respond. Apart from those few issues overall one of the ebst experiences ive had in a long time in !

The story is rushed, disposes of characters that could have had futher use The MJ missions, the freaking MJ missions r back and bigger then ever Shes like low key john wick The side quests r what u expect,cept for 1 stand out mission that is so outta place U play as miles sorta gf Its also a short game, and its doesnt feel like theres amything for peter to do that miles can't, but things miles can that peter cant Its at best a 9, at worst 6 but in the middle u find the truth and its a 7.5 Good game nothing extraordinary especially for a PS5 exclusive thats been highly anticipated
I agree with your longer comment and also the reply. As much as I love this game the flaws are undeniable the gameplay is top notch best there is but the story the character motivations, and the lackluster side missions really distract from the overall package. The highs are some of the highest you’ll have in video games when it comes from a pure gameplay enjoyment level, but there is more to a game than just gameplay.

Insomniac is by far Sonys best studio not putting them in S tier with all due respect to Blessing is just bonkers. Insomniac is miles better than Naughty Dog. ND is still S teir but Insomniac has way better games and more of them.

Is there any information if the additional skins are going to be available from the get-go? I'm asking because I've played SM1 predominantly with the OG suit as I dislike the advanced one (I squinted my eyes when I saw him in the finale of SM1 with May and MM but ok).
I agree the game is phenomenal, improved on the previous games in so many ways. I disagree with Andy on the boss fights, they all felt very repetitive not just the fact that all bosses had very similar attacks, but then all had 3-4 bars and you each phase was nearly identical. Overall big fan, but didn’t enjoy the bosses and also thought there was too much combat and not enough stealth or puzzle gameplay. 👍👍
I LOVE this game. My only gripes are that it wasn’t longer and I still prefer the old Peter face. We made an emotional connection and they changed it for truly no reason. No one wanted it. The original face wasn’t a problem but I still love it
I give this game a 4.5/5. Here’s my reason. Gameplay and traversal is seamless and phenomenal. I love the elements added to stealth via the web line however I miss the wall gadget. Pls bring that back Insomniac! I love that they added the parry system, wall thrash and getting rid of the gadget wheel. Instant quick travel is amazing!!! Wish we had more Venom. No Mary Jane!!! Hailey was boring too. Peter Parker missions was decent. Story was decent not great. Wish Kraven’s character was fleshed out more. Spider-Man could’ve had some mini fights with him.
Having Platinumed Spidey over the weekend I gotta disagree that it's the perfect length. Maybe for a reviewer who has to move on to the next thing but for someone like me whose next game isn't til Feb I could have spent more time with Spidey. I liked a lot of the activities they cut like the swinging/combat challenges and the Enemy Bases. I also feel like Random Crime is a lot less interesting in this one then it was in the first game and it was the area I was most hoping they would expand. Instead there is less variety and they don't track the bonus objectives. I used to love swinging around and doing crime. They made this incredible city and traversal system and theres just nothing to do post-game. I also think the story needed more time to breath. They rush to Venom and as a result everyone's motivations are all poorly defined. It was still an amazing game and I loved my time with it.
Got the platinum roughy 90 minutes after beating the story today. It’s pretty good I did have a lot of the same issues with the character models looking ugly and a fairly common issue was them not loading it at all like Kraven’s first time interacting with a member of the spider team he wasn’t there at all and same goes for Norman after a scene with Harry and Peter. Also the glitch of both spidermen just turning into white blocks and just not appearing correctly multiple times during significant story moments took me out of the experience.

I'm so hyped for this. I've been playing games on my PS4 Pro and on my pc which needs to be upgraded, was barely running them. I finally got a PS5 and an Oled tv. I'm so impressed with the PS5, UI is great, some fantastic quality-of-life improvements. Really feels like a big upgrade on the ps4 and Spider-Man 2 is here! going to look beautiful on my Oled. Can't wait!

so many issues in it:
- Spanish language completely butchered for "inclusion"
- ESG company blackrock has 7% of sony stocks and it shows its influence
- performative pandering that they can't even get right
- like the flag in Mile's room or taiyaki stand that can't even figure out Taiyaki isn't a pretzel
- Mary Jowl face and androgynous body type cause femininity is seen as bad these days
- Peter Parker emasculated constantly to push up Miles and Mary Jowl
- Miles literally has no reason to exist
- All they do with miles is remove Peter's agency in his own story, - Peter gets beat up then Miles saves him to show he's "important" when really its just devaluing Peter's ability to make miles look better
- MJ stealth sections ridiculously overpowered to make her sections seem good when really its laughable
- Black cat doesn't get missions, neither does wraith as playable but time for terrible MJ sections

Has it not been buggy as hell for anyone else?! I feel like I'm going crazy. I had to "restart from checkpoint" like 3 times just during the opening sequence. It kept getting locked up and wasn't triggering cut scenes. And an on-screen notification got stuck in a cycle of popping on then rolling off throughout a mission and even continued into subsequent cut scenes. It makes me not want to continue playing.
My only beef with the game is that it needed more Spider-Cop 😂

Finished the game at 2am this morning ans have to say it's an incredible experience. I 100% agree with everything tim says but sometimes the game was buggy which made me restart check points or even the part when miles gains his last ability the burtone would not respond. Apart from those few issues overall one of the ebst experiences ive had in a long time in !
Blessing does know there’s a whole Peter Parker side that has to be presented. Not just the Spider-Man part.

I agree with your longer comment and also the reply. As much as I love this game the flaws are undeniable the gameplay is top notch best there is but the story the character motivations, and the lackluster side missions really distract from the overall package. The highs are some of the highest you’ll have in video games when it comes from a pure gameplay enjoyment level, but there is more to a game than just gameplay.

Insomniac is by far Sonys best studio not putting them in S tier with all due respect to Blessing is just bonkers. Insomniac is miles better than Naughty Dog. ND is still S teir but Insomniac has way better games and more of them.

One huge aspect that makes the game more appealing to me, is that they removed the timer on the levels.. That timer always stressed me out 😅
I agree the game is phenomenal, improved on the previous games in so many ways. I disagree with Andy on the boss fights, they all felt very repetitive not just the fact that all bosses had very similar attacks, but then all had 3-4 bars and you each phase was nearly identical. Overall big fan, but didn’t enjoy the bosses and also thought there was too much combat and not enough stealth or puzzle gameplay. 👍👍
I LOVE this game. My only gripes are that it wasn’t longer and I still prefer the old Peter face. We made an emotional connection and they changed it for truly no reason. No one wanted it. The original face wasn’t a problem but I still love it

This has become my favorite iteration of Spider Man .
I give this game a 4.5/5. Here’s my reason. Gameplay and traversal is seamless and phenomenal. I love the elements added to stealth via the web line however I miss the wall gadget. Pls bring that back Insomniac! I love that they added the parry system, wall thrash and getting rid of the gadget wheel. Instant quick travel is amazing!!!
Wish we had more Venom. No Mary Jane!!! Hailey was boring too. Peter Parker missions was decent.
Story was decent not great. Wish Kraven’s character was fleshed out more. Spider-Man could’ve had some mini fights with him.
Having Platinumed Spidey over the weekend I gotta disagree that it's the perfect length. Maybe for a reviewer who has to move on to the next thing but for someone like me whose next game isn't til Feb I could have spent more time with Spidey.
I liked a lot of the activities they cut like the swinging/combat challenges and the Enemy Bases. I also feel like Random Crime is a lot less interesting in this one then it was in the first game and it was the area I was most hoping they would expand. Instead there is less variety and they don't track the bonus objectives. I used to love swinging around and doing crime. They made this incredible city and traversal system and theres just nothing to do post-game. I also think the story needed more time to breath. They rush to Venom and as a result everyone's motivations are all poorly defined.
It was still an amazing game and I loved my time with it.

Got the platinum roughy 90 minutes after beating the story today. It’s pretty good I did have a lot of the same issues with the character models looking ugly and a fairly common issue was them not loading it at all like Kraven’s first time interacting with a member of the spider team he wasn’t there at all and same goes for Norman after a scene with Harry and Peter. Also the glitch of both spidermen just turning into white blocks and just not appearing correctly multiple times during significant story moments took me out of the experience.
