I love most of Malaysian islands and beaches..in the East and the West Malaysia.. they are clean, not polluted and not crowded.. literally they're just like private beaches or islands.. simply pure, great skyline and spectacular views..
As a native Terengganu I think your review is rather spot on. If you have the budget and it’s your first time to Redang, Laguna is a good bet for a good experience. Once you get to know the place already then you can try out the cheaper options with less facilities. Some regulars are just happy with cheaper ones because they’re only there for the dives and just needed a place to sleep and eat in between dives.
Glad to hear Fasal! We were hesitant to spend big at Laguna, but this was the only resort that got good reviews and we thought that we might as well ensure a good experience. Thanks for watching!
I have been to Redang Island and stayed at Laguna Resort Hotel as well. I loved this island but neighbouring Perhentian Islands was nice too. I have also been to Tioman Island and Kapas Island (this one as a day trip from Kuala Terengganu). I've always been to these places in the summer months where Langkawi and Penang were better in the winter months
Hi Brother Sman, we never looked into Kapas island, thanks for the suggestion! Yes, we were lucky enough to be on the East coast of Malaysia during the summer months, so that was perfect for Redang island.
Great video again guys, loved the review. The resort looked amazing and snorkeling seemed unreal! I cannot wait to visit. These hotel prices are a little more expensive but still significantly better than the all-inclusives over on this side of the world
Redang Island was pretty amazing and the snorkelling was some of the best we have experienced around the world. We were especially excited when we saw the reef shark! You are right, in terms of all inclusive hotels worldwide, the Laguna Resort still represents great value!
The resorts on the east coast islands close during the northwest monsoon season, which is usually November - February. Been to Redang many times, and this resort has the best scuba setup.
Hi NIgel, yeah it looked like the scuba diving was well set up where we were. We didn't bother scuba diving this time round, but it would have been pretty cool.
I was on a day trip to Redang from Perhentian islands as a solo traveler last year. I fell in love with the beaches in and around that lagoon and all the amazing snorkeling around the dock (so many cute baby sharks) !! I will be back in South East Asia but this time with my mother and her best friend. I think we could split the bill in one of the cheaper resorts if we have a room with three single beds.
Nice! Yes, the island resorts are very expensive relative to the rest of the country and good idea to split the costs. Thanks for watching and enjoy your next trip there!
Hi Lubalang, we walked through the redang reef resort and it looked pretty chill. We assume it is a bit more laid back and cheaper than the Laguna resort. The location is just as good as Laguna too!
For me Pulau Tioman is better when it comes to snorkeling n scuba diving because of it's rich corals n fish, but Pulau Redang is still beautiful. But the boat ride is quite long, when visit Terengganu I prefer Pulau Perhentian or Pulau Kapas because its nearer
Hi Ace, ahh, we didn't get the chance to snorkel at Pulau Tioman and that sounded like a missed opportunity. Pulau Perhentian was really good as well and we'll share our experience of that soon too. Thanks for watching.
Great video. We went to Redang about 5 years ago and stayed at the Taaras resort on the other beach. Redang is amazing and so beautiful. Good luck with your channel. ❤ Funny you should say about "not leaving clothes on the balcony" . Those cheeky monkeys stole my wifes lighter off the balcoony. 😆😆😆😆😆😆
Very cheeky monkeys! Ahhh Taaras resort, we looked at that resort as well, that would have been lovely to experience. Thanks for watching and for your encouragement!
Years ago i was there a month, that time it was much better not crowded and less boats. Now i doesn't want to go there anymore when i see this, but my wife and daughter they go Friday anyway for a few days, hopefully they enjoy it.
It is definitely a popular option these days. We visited shortly after they opened up again after covid and it was pretty busy! How did your wife and daughter find the experience?
Nice video! Redang is indeed beautiful. But we prefer to be away from people. We just got back from Redang Island too! We practically had the entire place to ourselves 🥰 I’ve just posted a short video
We know what you mean. Redang can get quite busy and we were there during the peak season in July. That would have been great to go outside peak season. Hopefully you didn't get too much rain.
Oohhh tough question. Both are good. We found Perhentian to have more scuba and snorkelling operators and subsequently cheaper. We also liked that it felt easier to snorkel straight off the beach where we were staying in Perhentian Besar.
sadly the island inhibitants lack the concern to protect their turtles. According to a turtle lab in one of the resorts, the fishermen are willing to kill entangled turtles than to cut their fishing nets. There is also illegal selling of the turtle eggs in the black market. Although some areas are protected under the Malaysian law, vast areas of beaches are still prone to poachers. In addition, the sighting of the last turtle leatherback was seen on 2017. There was no sighting of the leatherback ever since. Some of the rarest species of fish were nowhere to be found ever again.
We were there at the start of August. It was a good time to visit weatherwise, however it is still part of the peak tourist season there, so prices will be relatively high.
Yeah, it was pricey, but we found Perhentian to be a similar range for the 'all inclusive' hotels. Our Perhentian islands video is coming up in the next couple of weeks!
I beg to differ your opinion on the Malaysian KFC mashed potato. I live in Sydney and occasionally eats KFC here but I hate the mashed potato here. It is just too rich gravy and not much of mashed potato. Also, the coleslaw in Malaysian KFC taste better than Australian KFC. Sorry Mate, I'm saying this not because I am biased being Malaysian but I have tasted other countries' KFCs as well i.e. India, UAE, Italy but nothing compared with the juiciness of the original KFC chicken, mashed potato and colesalw in KFC Malaysia. 😅
Hi Ramona, now that you mention it, there is a fair bit of gravy in the Australian mashed potato. We agree with you that the original KFC chicken in Malaysia is SOO much more juicy than in Australia. Thanks for watching!

@@khalidahmadkhan2270 They are both good. I think most would probably choose Perhentian
Thank you you two. My Brother and I so enjoy your sharing and analysis of your travels.
Hi FreeRadical1, thanks so much for all your support!😁
