Generally the people, food and transportation in Malaysia are great. Whilst nowhere is perfect, I'm glad you are showing the nicer side of SE Asia.

      @@stmpo5595 Of course there is statistic involving foreigners in Malaysia, mostly foreign workers which constitute 7% of Malaysian population and 1/3 are from Indonesia and the rest from Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnamese, Cambodian and the Philippines. In term of expats who are professional only constitute 1% of Malaysian population. The crimes involved between foreign workers themselves, between foreign workers and Malaysians. Based on statistic by the Malaysian Home Ministry in 2020, 3.8 crimes per 1000 population committed by foreigners in Malaysia, meanwhile by Malaysians 5.3 per 1000 population. The ratio basis, of course Malaysian commit more crimes than foreigners but the crimes commit by foreigners also substantial since Malaysia receiving foreign workers since 1970s and 1980s to develop the country. That's also included illegal immigrants and the foreigners who misused their visas to stay in Malaysia for illegal works eg. scammer, prostitute, money laundering etc which included from Central Asian countries, Eastern European countries, African countries and other neighbouring countries and China.

      nak tumpang cerita.. dulu operasi diberhentikan sebab landasan rosak, tanah runtuh dan train tergelincir dari landasan.. banjir tu penyumbang cerita juga.. lama jugak lepas tu, ktm jual tiket dari kl sampai ke gua musang sahaja . lepas tu kena naik bas (kira shuttle la ni) yang ktmb sediakan untuk ke stesen mana dah lupa.. untuk teruskan perjalanan ke wakaf bharu.. disebabkan ni lah saya dah tak balik kg naik train.. sebab rasa adventure sangat proses nak balik kg nya 😂
      sekarang dah ada balik dah trip tu.. cuma perjalanan bermula dari gemas.. membuatkan saya sangat berfikir panjang utk ke gemas dulu. 😅 dulu start dari kl sentral terus ke wakaf bharu.

    I discovered your vlog thanks to a review of your video made by an Indonesian TH-camr. Your sincere observations about the warmth of Malaysians you've met in your vlog moved me. Simply put, it makes me think of how we were always taught in school to respect and be courteous to visitors, especially when they were travelling to and through our country. I find it encouraging that young people today continue to follow good educational practises, not out of a need to impress others but rather out of a genuine desire to treat those who have already decided to visit our country with respect. We value your kind words about us and wish you continued success in your explorations of our countryside.

    • @BucketListTravellers
      @BucketListTravellers  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Noordin, welcome to our channel! Yes we watched that last night too! It is really special how Malaysians treat visitors and sadly not as common in other countries as you would hope. Australians are nice however keep to themselves, so visitors wouldn't typically get the same experience, especially in our hometown of Sydney.

      @noordinbeldenlex1620 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@BucketListTravellers - I'm delighted you came across kind people while visiting our country. To be fair, people in various areas and communities may have varying attitudes. I used to think that Malaysians were generally pretty reticent individuals. It's not that they are unfriendly; rather, they're attempting to avoid coming across as overly cordial, which would unnecessarily raise suspicion. Therefore, they prefer to wait to be approached before becoming friendly to others. Since I always receive special consideration everywhere I go as a disabled person, I don't truly know how kind Malaysians are. I believed it to be more of a privilege than an act of friendliness on their part. However, many of the vlogs I watched shared the same experience, the friendliness of Malaysians, and some even expressed disbelief when they learned that a stranger who they didn't even know had already paid for their food. I simply hope that my fellow Malaysians will keep up our good deeds without trying to impress anyone else, but rather as a part of our culture that we have cultivated since we were in school to be gracious with our guests and treat them with respect.

    Hi there! So glad you get to take the jungle train. I was born in Temangan, the station before Kuala Krai. There were no roads then and the only way to travel was by train (or walk the jungle trails). It was always special to get to go to Kuala Krai (the big town!!) once every couple of months. The train only ran once a day then (up north toward Tumpat and back south again to Gemas and continuing towards Singapore). Every time we would go to Kuala Krai, we would stay with friends or relatives and come back the next day on the north-bound train. The train looks spiffy now!! The ones that I remember had slatted wooden benches.

    I believe you get what you project out to the world. Youguys are so warm and kindhearted, it’s awesome that our fellow locals were able to graciously host you along the way ❤❤❤
    P/s: there’s a guesthouse at the foot of gunung stong (Ponik Guesthouse); they are highly recommended. The owner wrote the guide book to gunung stong. His research and blueprint is one of the main reasons why gunung stong obtained its state park status. If you ever find yourself there again, look his guesthouse up; you’ll learn everything about stong and it’s history right from the horse’s mouth.

    You have just witnessed the beauty of Islam in Malaysia. Many foreigners or shall i say white people are so afraid of Muslims due to the stereotypical towards to Muslim world. Malaysian Muslims are very different from middle eastern Muslims because the people here are well mixed and respect other faiths and beliefs because Malaysia is a multiracial country (Islam is the official religion here) and people live like family despite the difference in our faith. I'm a Catholic Christian and Muslim are like brothers to us here. So experience the beauty of love that you've never felt in other parts of the world. Our love language is Food, culture and respect. That's how we live in a diverse country. Please visit Malacca (Melaka) a historical state in Malaysia rich with cultures and religious influences. God bless you both 😊🇲🇾👍🏾🙏🏾

      Hi Ken, we completely agree with you. The western view of Islam has been distorted and if more people visited places like Malaysia they would be better for it. We are also impressed with the religious freedom in Malaysia. We visited Malacca in 2018 and had a great time there.

    awww. glad you guys loved and enjoyed our home. its a question that we always ask in Malaysia "have you eaten"? its something we unintentionally do. for example you meet a friend for maybe a movie or something, we'd ask something like taken breakfast? or had your lunch? honestly i also think that even myself, we have been asked this question or have been asking this question that we have taken it for granted or have overlooked this detail. so its very nice to be able to see you guys enjoying and being touched by it. its very warming. please do come back often!!!

      Hi THeyNish, we had read up on the junge train and were expecting a much older version, probably the one you experienced. We were really impressed with this one. They might still have the old sleeper train for overnight trips, we just travelled during the day.
