The kid musta goofed up so Dad had to take over ... super job on the hood and deck .. but don't early Fords open the other way?? ... bet the Kid goofed up again ... nice work guys ... great team ...
Wow !!!! Dad n son doing there MAGIC in craftsmanship beautiful build. amazing I like wen he said improvisation. and that is custom build can't wait to see it finished and on the road 👍👍👍👍👍
Vic, great to see you as our host today. Note - even your two left hands are way more capable than anything I could dream of handling 👍😎👍 This car is sure turning out gorgeous. Both of you are wizards, showing off the results of your magic tricks. Any change you could share a few words (maybe in the next video) as to the technique employed to align the centerlines of the hinge pivots? I can imagine how one might make them longitudinally perpendicular to the car centerline, but how were you able to locate those tiny pivot pins perfectly inline 3 feet apart?
Hi Joel, alignment can usually be established using a longer pivot shaft connecting the 2 hinges together and precise mount locations scribed. Thanks for the kind words.
It can be a pain sometimes. We got lucky this time. The door hinges for R2, the mid engine sports car, took 3 months and several prototypes to get right. O_O
Yes. Same way as your saw when we did the one for the '40. Only this time used the tips guys gave me with much less dabbing... came out much quicker and nicer.
I monkeyed about for a couple of days trying to adapt a pair of hinges to a different application. Vic has probably forgotten more about his craft than most of us could learn in a lifetime.
Hinges are not easy. We spent around 3 months to develop hinges with the right throw and stability for the single pivot butterfly doors on the mid engine R2 sports car. People think you're crazy when we share that little tid bit of trivia.
Man I wish so much you could have shown how you did both hinges so they are parallel to one and other. As in jig or laser, but in saying that thanks for the front hinge. To me that was priceless.
You should make it open horizontally like those living room coffee tables that fold up to become a desk kinda thing. Maybe not very practical but never been done.
Love the fact Vic said the hinges are "pivotal" easy to see where Nick got his talent and sense of humour.
Long live King Vic
FINEST QUALITY WORK ---- TRUE CRAFTSMEN ---- Great presentation ---- Very informative -- Thanks for sharing
We appreciate your support Richard! Cheers!
Your dad knows what he is talking about. Very nice to see him.

LOL! Musta! Thanks for watching Mr. Joe.
Legendary team work, thank you
It's always a prefect Friday when you unload a new Vid. Also, Nick, I love the idea of a fully custom front bumper design for the Ford, Thanks.
Thanks Dwayne!
Lovely to see your Dad getting involved.
Hey Vic. Good job representing us older guys!
You bet!
Hi Dad aka Vic ... I feel like this was a pivotal episode in the build !

Always fascinated with hinges because of all the planning and thought that goes into them to make them work Nice job.

The Master. Respect
Thank you! Hey great name by the way. Vic.
Looks like you got the ceiling liner done!

Great workmanship . Really enjoying this build
great tricks good teacher
Thanks! I'll pass that on to my Dad.
Micky mouse around that ❤
Nice!!!! I was crossing my fingers for the rear hood corner clearance. I definitely want to eliminate the outside hinges on mine.
It was a close one! Biggest deal is to get the pivot pin as close to the skin as possible. Thanks for watching!
Man I wish so much you could have shown how you did both hinges so they are parallel to one and other. As in jig or laser, but in saying that thanks for the front hinge. To me that was priceless.
Hi Paul, Vic is still getting the hang of running the camera and remembering to hit record. Glad this helped you out.

You are sure it has never been done?
Thanks Dad.
Well done l don’t like fitting hinges at the best of times 👏👏👍😁
Nice job guys 👍
Thanks man!
Artists that think like engineers. 👍
(or is it the other way 'round)
A little from column A and a little from column B. Thanks for watching Sam!
Are the front hinges from the Infinity?
Nope, the Infiniti has a single pivot point and won't allow the hood to move up and forward from the cowl.
What happened to 14?😊
Episode#14 is now in the playlist. I missed adding that one. Thanks for watching!
Fantastic job. Can't wait to see it done 😊 0:55
Us too!! Thanks for watching!
