However, 'Ring Ding Dong' had highly affected to young people in Korea specially who had to take an important examination for entering university or getting a job. @@ayaayoya8592 First, chill. Second, just because an artist mentors or is an idol of another artist, that doesn't mean the one who is doing the idolizing is lacking or needs to improve. It just means they admire another artists' skill. Nothing wrong with that. Taemin debuted 4 years before EXO & Kai, despite them being in training at the same time. Taemin debuted 5 years before Jimin. So I'm sure Jimin was aware of Taemin before he debuted with BTS. What's the problem if Jimin admired or looked up to Taemin at that time? Kai stated in an interview around 2014 that Taemin helped him a lot with dancing during trainee days. Then, in another interview when asked what was his first impression of Taemin when they met, Kai said he thought Taemin was Usher. It is also a very well-known fact that SHINee, as a senior group in SM mentored both EXO & NCT. Baekyun also mentioned that he greatly admires Taemin and considers Taemin someone he learns a lot from because he is a pro. (Watch "The Artist: Taemin" on YT) Just as TVXQ & Super Junior mentored SHINee when they debuted. This is routinely done within the SM family. Now Jimin always wanted to do something with Taemin because he admired Taemin so much. So, he asked Taemin to do a collab which ended up being the one everyone reacts to on YT. Secondly, SHINee was one of the first groups to openly welcome BTS onto the Kpop scene despite the whole SM/Big Hit kerfluffle. Lastly, I can give you links to 4 to 5 earlier SHINee concert stage concepts that were later borrowed by BTS and tweaked for their MAMA stages and others. This is also routinely done by groups who admire or are inspired by a senior group. SHINee are the Kpop trendsetters so this is very normal. So yes, Jimin admires Taemin not just for dancing, but for his singing ability as well. This does not mean that Jimin and Kai are not good. It just means that they admire a senior artist and respect his artistry. This does not take anything away from either Kai or Jimin.
Yeah no I’m not so sure on the BTS one. I think they respect him as a fellow artist but not look up to him. On top of that if they idolize anyone it should be Michael Jackson because he’s the inspiration for a lot of the dancing and visuals I see in k pop.
You neglected to mention that Taemin is the lead dancer of the legendary Kpop group Shinee who are known as the Princes of Kpop and that Taemin is often called the MJ of Korea. Younger idols just about universally revere Shinee and many have covered their songs.

Taemin started dancing because of MJ and learned popping and locking on his own. He debuted at 14 in 2008 and not too many artists/idols in Korea were dancing like/influenced by MJ. Taemin continually improved and became his own unique dancer. Stop your negativity and do your research before making unfounded statements. We Taemints and Shawols know our artist’s history, just like you know everything about your biases.

Jessi is indeed very straightforward. She’s really funny, makes friends easily and makes people feel comfortable while meeting for the first time. She doesn’t care about others opinions and does what she thinks is right. She came to Korea when she was 15 and I think it’s been almost 15 years since her debut (pls correct me if I’m wrong). She is an amazing rapper and dancer, she has that stage presence but people sometimes forget that she’s such an amazing vocalist! For her songs I would really recommend: - What type of X - Numb Got7 is a 7 member Boy Group that debuted over 7 years ago under JYP Entertainment. They left the company after the contract but promised fans to stay together as a group and continue doing their music. The company sadly often (I think always) rejected their songs they wrote so they didn’t have really much freedom but now they’re out of the company and do have artistic freedom. They’re one of the most known groups with a lot of iconic songs. Here some recommendations: - Not by the moon - Encore (after they left JYP) Jackson is one of the members of Got7 and well known for his solo work: - 100 Ways - Leave me loving you - Bullet to the heart Everglow is a 6 member girl group. They have a stronger known concept as far as I know. I think you already watched Dun Dun and adios. These are the most known. I don’t know much about the Group but their songs slap. Taemin is Part of the Group Shinee (also known as princes of kpop) and debuted as a solo artist a couple of years ago. He’s one of the best dancers, maybe even the best in kpop and is known for his smooth and feminin features and dance moves. He has a way of pulling you into the Performance and keeping the attention on himself. He’s really an amazing performer. Don’t call me and Atlantis by SHINee! Both are bops and so different. DNC choreo is hard. Taemin is releasing a mini album-advice on May18th and the choreo is apparently one of the fastest he has done so far. Also his Japanese song- Famous is amazing. Criminal and Idea as well.. Taemin was supposed to be the leader because he has the most experience and debuted the earliest, but Baekhyun (oldest in the group) became the leader instead. Taemin debuted 5 years before Jimin. So I'm sure Jimin was aware of Taemin before he debuted with BTS. What's the problem if Jimin admired or looked up to Taemin at that time?
Kai stated in an interview around 2014 that Taemin helped him a lot with dancing during trainee days. Then, in another interview when asked what was his first impression of Taemin when they met, Kai said he thought Taemin was Usher. It is also a very well-known fact that SHINee, as a senior group in SM mentored both EXO & NCT. Baekyun also mentioned that he greatly admires Taemin and considers Taemin someone he learns a lot from because he is a pro. (Watch "The Artist: Taemin" on YT) Just as TVXQ & Super Junior mentored SHINee when they debuted. This is routinely done within the SM family.
Now Jimin always wanted to do something with Taemin because he admired Taemin so much. So, he asked Taemin to do a collab which ended up being the one everyone reacts to on YT. Secondly, SHINee was one of the first groups to openly welcome BTS onto the Kpop scene despite the whole SM/Big Hit kerfluffle. Lastly, I can give you links to 4 to 5 earlier SHINee concert stage concepts that were later borrowed by BTS and tweaked for their MAMA stages and others. This is also routinely done by groups who admire or are inspired by a senior group. SHINee are the Kpop trendsetters so this is very normal. So yes, Jimin admires Taemin not just for dancing, but for his singing ability as well. This does not mean that Jimin and Kai are not good. It just means that they admire a senior artist and respect his artistry. This does not take anything away from either Kai or Jimin.
Yeah no I’m not so sure on the BTS one. I think they respect him as a fellow artist but not look up to him. On top of that if they idolize anyone it should be Michael Jackson because he’s the inspiration for a lot of the dancing and visuals I see in k pop.
You neglected to mention that Taemin is the lead dancer of the legendary Kpop group Shinee who are known as the Princes of Kpop and that Taemin is often called the MJ of Korea. Younger idols just about universally revere Shinee and many have covered their songs.

Really good choices to share. Taemin is next level artist and his music is a specific groove and vibe. im not sure if MOVE was the best introduction song to newbies. Some people dig it right away and some people dont, those people are wrong but thats fine lol
Jessi is indeed very straightforward. She’s really funny, makes friends easily and makes people feel comfortable while meeting for the first time. She doesn’t care about others opinions and does what she thinks is right. She came to Korea when she was 15 and I think it’s been almost 15 years since her debut (pls correct me if I’m wrong). She is an amazing rapper and dancer, she has that stage presence but people sometimes forget that she’s such an amazing vocalist!

Got7 is a 7 member Boy Group that debuted over 7 years ago under JYP Entertainment. They left the company after the contract but promised fans to stay together as a group and continue doing their music. The company sadly often (I think always) rejected their songs they wrote so they didn’t have really much freedom but now they’re out of the company and do have artistic freedom. They’re one of the most known groups with a lot of iconic songs.

Taemin is Part of the Group Shinee (also known as princes of kpop) and debuted as a solo artist a couple of years ago. He’s one of the best dancers, maybe even the best in kpop and is known for his smooth and feminin features and dance moves. He has a way of pulling you into the Performance and keeping the attention on himself. He’s really an amazing performer.

GOT7 is one of those group whose not afraid to experiment on their songs, they don't follow the trend coz they have the uniqueness in them (the whole songs from each of their albums were worth to listen). EVERYONE in the entertainment sphere tried to cover this dance and couldn't achieve the fluidity or smoothness of Taemin. It looks easy, but in fact requires tremendous body control, and this is one of Taemin's more sedate performances. Let me introduce you to Lee Taemin: (I apologize for the length of this up front...lol...but there's a lot to learn.)
Taemin and his original and main group, SHINee, are both legends in the Kpop world. In fact, they have done more to make Kpop what it is today than most other groups. They are so respected that you will most likely never hear other artists or members of the industry say anything negative about them.
Off-stage, Taemin is the most adorable, humble tofu of a man with a core of iron (as described by his friend, Ravi of VIXX). Everyone in Kpop loves him. The duality is striking - one minute he's cute and adorable and in a split second becomes intensely fierce. As Taeyong of NCT & SuperM said, he was afraid to meet Taemin at first, but then realized he was very gentle, but "...a bit immoral" LOLOLOL! Taemin was just 14 when he debuted with SHINee as their main dancer. As a totally self-taught dancer, he wasn't restricted by one genre or technique that was drilled into his body. Unfortunately, due to immature vocal cords, he couldn't sing when SHINee debuted. In fact, his nickname was "Tone-Deaf". However, this didn't stop the tenacious Taemin. 2) Taemin is a Christian (devout Catholic) so there is also usually a lot of religious imagery, symbolism, metaphors, and allusions within his lyrics and MVs (although not so much in "Move", as it has a different agenda).
3) Taemin is DEEP and very intellectual. Much of what we know about his lyrics come from listening to him explain it on interviews and IG LIVEs. The rest is due to our (fans) research. So be prepared to realize that the seemingly simple meanings on the surface of his songs may not be the real meaning.
