They are rare gems and once in a while, we are gifted with one. He might not have as many views as other MVs which are average if not mediocre. But hey excellence has never been synonym for Popular. Unfortunately. Thank God for Taemin and a few others who grace us with their gift and thus keep the real thing, real music, good music and true artistry alive.
Tbh the reason why a lot of groups have such a high number of views is because their fans stream non stop, they’re not as ‘authentic’ I guess. It doesn’t even matter because Taemin is a legend that can’t be said for everyone
That's the duality of Taemin. He is the MASTER of dark concepts. Remember, this all comes from his inner reflections. Here are my thoughts, first it's a masterpiece, and the more I watch it, the more I become aware of the customary duality of the meaning behind the lyrics & images and the connection with NGDA, specifically "Criminal" and "IDEA". Taemin did say "Advice" is like the epilogue to those songs and his new beginning. Our first indication of this duality is the fashion of the backup dancers (half black; half white) and the first suit he wears (black in the front; white in the back - a mixture of both). As with most of Taemin's MVs we have the surface meaning of him seemingly addressing his haters/saesangs and telling them he'll do things his way (including getting tattoos if he wants, "I destroy the torso you were chasing after", and taking his own advice", and so on. However, there are several connections with NGDA: 1) He wore a very similar head mask that only exposes his eyes for part of his photoshoot for NGDA (where he was on the car). 2) For his "IDEA" photoshoot, Taemin wore a black veil, "Even the veil that hides the smile inside the glass mask is lost." So now, the veil is gone and so is the "glass mask" that hid his inner smile. Taemin has recently been much more open, expressive, and happy than in the past. He used to hide his emotions and be shy during interviews and such, letting his SHINee hyungs speak instead. Even he said he's actually smiling too much lately...lol. In addition, now we can't stop him from talking (a good thing) and at the speed of light to boot, mixing Korean, English, & Japanese. 3) With NGDA, he also sported tattoos on his hands and face. This time, Taemin actually fully exposes his torso (usually he wears a jacket with just the middle of his torso showing). The tattoos are explosive, blanketing his torso and arms which include scuff marks and thorns, as if he's been through a battle. His fingers are blackened like he escaped a fire (the inferno and lava seen in "Criminal" & "IDEA".) 4) In "IDEA", Taemin wears a crop-top but his waist/hip tattoo is covered up. Here, he's wearing a crop-top again, but we finally get to see his waist/hip tattoo. It's exposed. I think he intentionally covered his tattoo before to reveal it here to make a statement. I'm free, and I'll show you I can do anything I want -- including getting a tattoo. (Wish I could see what it is though.) 5) In "Criminal", Taemin was both the protagonist and the victim. He was "leashed" by his dominant ego (the one he's had for 14 years). He was totally under the dominant ego's control, trapped within his own mind. "IDEA" gave us Taemin's climactic battle and victory. The new ego is finally free and eager to explore, break out of his introverted ways, and create the music he loves rather than what is expected by the industry. You can see allusions to this via the very large Taemin in a very small room basically saying I'm too big to confine. "The more you try to trap me, the more I'll go off the rails." Now he's exposing his large waist/hip tattoo proudly and showing it to the world regardless of how anyone feels; a blow to how an introvert usually behaves. 6) When Taemin is suspended in mid-air, broken at the waist, you may have noticed his hair appears to be shorter and the same silver color as in "Criminal". The "criminal" ego has been broken and dismissed. Until now, there was only One advice - that of the "criminal" ego. However, now there is only "my advice" that of the new, freed ego: "I'll take my own advice," and a threat, "If you want to see the end, push my buttons." and "I'll shoot the One advice." 7) It also appears as if the "criminal" ego is not happy about his loss and this transition of power. He is trying to reassert himself, as demonstrated by the lyrics of the bridge, "It's creepy, the drama you wanted." "Why are you crossing the line again?". However new ego is having none of it. He won't be trapped again. He's locked that old ego away, "you never get the keys to my lock", and It's best to take his own advice and destroy what's left by shattering the "criminal" ego (windshield and visions of collisions, crashed cars. In short, destruction). 8) Taemin's signature "T" pose at the end (for "IDEA" it was at the beginning) - resurrection; the end of an old era, and the beginning of the new. In any case, this is just what I think. I do know that I'm really going to miss him during the 18 months of his military hiatus. He will enlist on 5/31.

Honestly.....no one does it like Taemin. He doesn't have a fix signature dance. He is very versatile. He does what the norms doesn't........usually. That's why it's not easy to get on his level. The way he dances is so unique and very detailed. Not everyone can even do MOVE like Taemin does.
Advice is such an impressive track, I honestly didn’t expect Taemin to snap as hard! You know what the piano part reminds me of? Of some late Beethoven sonatas - you know when you have a finale of the huge piece that lasts around 30 min and at the end it just has this crazy, unstoppable drive! That’s what I feel - this piano melody is just relentless and his vocals on top of it and the beat it’s just madness how good it is!!!

I'm not sure if you guys know but all men between the age of 18 and 28 in Korea have to enlist and do mandatory military service for at least 1 year and a half. Taemin recently announced that he was going to enlist by the end of May, so he said he wanted to drop one last song before he leaves and this is it. So after this song we won't see him for a while.

It has been 13 years now for majority of us SHAWOLS and we are so proud of him. I still get lost for words every time 😶👀🙀🤯 He went all out for his new album; displaying his full-on Vampire OG Prince status to the world for the creative genius that he is experimenting with new concepts and tempos on top of killer choreography and fashion with each track. *Taemin never rests.* And that's a know fact! 1. When preparing/practicing for a solo song he was also shooting a music video for SHINee (and vice versa, happened multiple times); 2. After award performances (which the production and preparation are bigger than weekly ones), Taemin sometimes goes right back to the practice room to improve for the next performances. That's not a rumor, happened a few times and Taemin got "exposed" last year by the choreographer (which jokingly said he got out of work back to work. Taemin requested his presence in a practice right after the performance); 3. Taemin was known as the idol "living in the SM building" because he was ALWAYS practicing for days/weeks straight, simply not going home.

Efra is right. Taemin will be enlisting by the end of this month. I'm not sure if you guys know but all men between the age of 18 and 28 in Korea have to enlist and do mandatory military service for at least 1 year and a half. Taemin recently announced that he was going to enlist by the end of May, so he said he wanted to drop one last song before he leaves and this is it. So after this song we won't see him for a while.

Taemin is really involved, dedicated, and critical in all aspects of this mini album--concept, costume, accessories, etc.. *Taemin never rests.* And that's a know fact!
1. When preparing/practicing for a solo song he was also shooting a music video for SHINee (and vice versa, happened multiple times);
2. After award performances (which the production and preparation are bigger than weekly ones), Taemin sometimes goes right back to the practice room to improve for the next performances. That's not a rumor, happened a few times and Taemin got "exposed" last year by the choreographer (which jokingly said he got out of work back to work. Taemin requested his presence in a practice right after the performance);
3. Taemin was known as the idol "living in the SM building" because he was ALWAYS practicing for days/weeks straight, simply not going home.
That's exactly what my face did at 2:00 when I heard that beat drop. This song just evokes my stank face. Such a good track!!

Efra is right. Taemin will be enlisting by the end of this month. As for his involvement or artistic control over his music, the only time he wasn’t yet as involved was during his debut with his 1st mini album ACE. But after that, he started to have more control and influence over everything, including the choreography, costume design, mixing, video editing, and overall performance.

Every South Korean male has to enlist for army training before they turn 30. Taemin is 28 so he has to enlist on May28, he got the notification. Training takes 18 months so, he won't be gone long.
