I love Sunday when I get to see a new video from Mark. I did a plaque project with a rope border like this. Poured resin in the outside pocket. Through capillary action the resin was drawn up and over the rope border onto the outside of the plaque - had to refill the pocket with resin after it setup some. Learned a lesson there. As always beautiful project!
The few times I've used resin in a carving, I've sealed the wood with polyurethane first. Check with the resin manufacturer to see if the resin is compatible with urethane before you try this, however - not all resins are.
Hi. Instead of changing the material size and recalculate everything, just put zero to center, and zero it where you want to be the center. It would be much easier. I used to put my zero to.left bottom corner as.well, not anymore. Its much easier to put a line from left upper to right bottom, and a line from left bottom to right upper and use the crossing line as the center.
Is there a way in Aspire to do rest machining? In ArtCAM you can machine with a larger bit then come back with the smaller bit and just machine what wasn't cut. Not the same as a roughing cut. Another question can you make the rope borders the same size as in not scaled? Where did you get the 1/16" tapered ball bit at? I have a couple of 1/8" but I don't think I've ever seen a 1/16" before? Wow, a lot of questions there. 😀 Sounds like this video was made just before all the thunderstorms hit. Thanks for the series some really good ideas there!
Yes you can do rest machining in Aspire. Vectric has a tutorial on it on their TH-cam channel. You can make the rope borders any size you like. For the bit, there's a link to it in the description of the video. Did I get everything? :) Thanks for watching, George.
I really don't know. I do the subtitles in American English, but I don't speak any other language well enough to attempt to translate them. I know that there's a way to open it up to allow other people on TH-cam to translate the subtitles, but I'm hesitant to do that for fear of malicious people having some "creative fun" with the subtitles. I don't know of any way to accurately translate them automatically, either. Unless someone who speaks Portuguese or Spanish would like to volunteer to translate those subtitles, I don't see any way of doing it. Thank you for watching, Pablo! I do hope they help!
@@MarkLindsayCNC thanks for answering! I do not know how it works to post videos on TH-cam, but I have an idea: if you take your caption in English and put it on Google translator and translate it into Portuguese or Spanish? I do it in your videos to be able to understand and learn, because I am Uruguayan and I live in Brazil. I built a Cnc Router with TH-cam videos, I do a lot of work on Aspire. And I like watching your videos because you explain well !!! Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
The problem with using Google Translate is it's not very accurate. It does pretty well, but not good enough. Plus the time factor. I barely have time to get the subtitles done in English. Doing the subtitles (plus all of the time coding) for a 30 minute tutorial would be a nightmare for Google Translate to do.

Mark, thank you again for your great tutelage. You always explain things in a manner that is easy to understand and grasp.
Thank you very much. I really do appreciate that. I hope the video helps!
Learnd alot as usual thank you so much! Btw 7 hours is a tremendous amount of time!
Great project Mark.
Thank you very much, Peter!
Another great video. Nice to see an actual carved piece start to finish.
Thank you Jon! It was a long carve, but worth it in the end.
Thanks for the quality content as always!!
Great project keep up the good work
Thank you, Geoffrey!
Turned out great Mark
Thank you, Steve!
What did you have on the drill when you were cleaning up the project? Sanding?
I had the Maslin 240 grit sanding brush on the drill. There's a link to it in the description box.
As always learned a lot like the home sweet home sign project
Cut that one picked up a lot thanks
Thank you very much! Glad to hear they're helping!
Thanks a lot Mark!
Thank you, Lyle!

I usually use a 3-way touch plate, so I prefer to set my X Y Datum to the bottom left corner.

What happens With thé offset?
Thanks very much, Patrick. I'll be doing a video on the difference between Offset and Raster in an upcoming video.
Good stuff as always Mark. I thought it was a sign for the wife, but the message confuses me then.
Thank you, John. That's just a manifestation of her goofy sense of humor. I've learned to live with it over the last 31 years, so...
@@MarkLindsayCNC I thought it had to be an inside joke. Originally thought it was the name of her piping group.
How to do subtitles in Portuguese? I'm sure it will win many followers. And you is very good explaining. Congratulations! or in Spanish is good too.

@@MarkLindsayCNC I understand, it is not easy to do. no problem, I'll continue watching your videos and learning each other more, good week!
