    Part 3 (PLL): • How to Solve a Rubik's...
    Heeeelllooooo!!! What's going on everyone? In this video I will teach you how to solve the feared Rubik's Cube in the fastest way, by using Fridrich method, also commonly referred to as CFOP. This is part one of three. In this video I cover advanced cross and F2l (first two layers). Enjoy!
    For my older subscribers, you may notice that I already have a video covering this subject. I decided to re-make it because I was unhappy with the quality of my older video.

      Some people tell me not to look while they scramble. They think it's easier to observe their scramble and just reverse it instead of the actual solving method.
      Oh well, at least they're more impressed when I solve it after that.

      This tutorial is actually good. It's not an algorithym based, it is intuition based. But he tells you what you have to look for and how to put it together.
      You need to have some prior baisc knowledge and practice with the rubik's cube. I'm going to college for undergraduation in Physics, and this kind of material is not new to me, books assume you know a ton of shit.
      I understand to some people this is hard, and if it's that hard to you, it's not time to watch it, go learn the basic solve and when you get practice enough, come back.

      Teaching isn't as simple as "here's how you do it." The cube itself has rules, parameters and structure but this guy's "teaching" method has no structure. He's all over the place. You can learn from him but he's not making it easy. It's 14 minutes of random instruction and tangential comments. 1.6 million views and I'm betting 47 people watched past 2 minutes. Sure we're all here bc we know the basic method so we kind of get-it, but seeing as the consensus is not liking his guidance and we're not new to the cube, it really illustrates how not user-friendly his style really is. (the only comment i've seen defending the lesson said: "your stupid." so, not hard to conclude your basic grammatically challenged troll on that one)
      I recently tried to teach the basic method to a 7-year-old and even though I made it simple and connected the moves in a storyline way to make it have context, she was still lost after the first few moves. Now that's to be expected, she's only 7 but watching this guy's video reminded me how important having a framework for a lesson really is. I mean having it be based on blue/green instead of yellow/white shows he's not really trying his best to make it digestible for the average new-cuber to advance to this level. How many of us learned first to "make the daisy?" He's the pro, you're telling me he can't adjust to that fundamental for an easier to understand tutorial? Instead it's on the 1.6 million of us to adjust. Ok. There's even one point where he says the wrong colors and just flashes a correction on the screen. If he really had a digestible lesson in mind for the average viewer he would have simply recorded a new take.
      There are lots of good cube instructors on youtube. I don't think this guy is one of them.

    Ok, so, a couple of questions.
    1. In the scenario 2 you said that the colours on opposing sides have to have opposing colours, but, you didn't explain how to orient the edge piece so that it could have opposing colours. And you didn't even explain how to get the edge piece there in the first place.
    2. I know this is said a lot, but it would be a ton more helpful if you did use yellow to white instead of blue to green? Just confusing as most beginner 3x3 tutorials use the yellow to white, and it's super confusing when you talk about it.
    3. A notice to anybody who is commenting, yes I know beginners method and yes I suck at cubing.
    And yes, after watching this many many times over I still cannot do advanced F2L, only the beginner one.
    Nice video, but a little more explaining would be awesome.

    What do you do if the target corner piece and edge piece are directly next to each other, but not in an F2L pair?

  • @Anton_Schusler

    Question: Is it best to be colour neutral or to have one colour, you always start with? I'm still using the beginner method (but I'm starting to learn CFOP), and right now I'm colour neutral.

    • @miko7125
      @miko7125 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It will be easier if you have a preferred colour, because you will be familliar with the colour scheme ( If I am wrong, I'm sorry ) and it will be easier to spot specific parts that you need

    • @matanschultz6282
      @matanschultz6282 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      i personally think its better to be color neutral because you could have a longer solve starting from your preferred color than you would on other colors so if youre color neutral you can just identify which color will give you the shortest solve and then just start from there

    • @danielmiddleton6094
      @danielmiddleton6094 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Id start by using a preferred colour then when you start going for time use whatever colour is most solved

    the fact that you don’t solve white to yellow makes this near impossible for me to follow, because any time I try to make a mental parallel to the step you are on, I have to do extreme mental gymnastics to equate what I’m doing to what you’re doing.
