Anybody remember "Night Flight" back in the early '80s?
I think they showed "Fabulous Stains" repeatedly, over and over, some nights. What a slice of an era. Fantastic.

Yes! That show was a lifeline for me stuck in the middle of the fucking Bible Belt. Saw this movie, Another State of Mind, lots of great clips of punk/hardcore/glam bands.

Night Flight was huge to me as a kid in the suburbs in the 80's. They also showed "Fantastic Planet" and "Suburbia" and those were huge in seeing what was outside of my small town.

    Steve Jones guitar
    Paul Cook Drums
    Paul Simonon Bass
    Ray Winstone Vocals
Paul did this part while Clash were recording in NYC.
As a result Paul did not play bass on a few tracks on Sandinista.
Bass on Mag 7 was played by Norman Watt-Roy of the Blockheads. He also played on Lightning Strikes.
    Norman wrote both basslines.

@@dubsurgeon1742 That is NOT a punk crowd. When I got into the hardcore punk scene in 1985 not all of us had bright red mowhawks. Most of us just had short hair and flannel. However the crowd here has ZERO punk edge or aesthetic. They don't look anything like the band in front of them.

    • @dubsurgeon1742

@@deathmetaldouglas69 - maybe you are not a punk- just a poseur who thinks fashion is more important than the person inside. You got in with a group of friends with similar aesthetics and then conformed to a new status quo- that is just as narrow minded and fickle as the people you pretend to rebel against.
Even back in the 1970's the idea of someone going on about their individuality while dressed like their favourite bands was oxymoronic...as if putting a bands logo on your jacket can truly define your sensibilities … some of the 'fashion punks' I grew up with are now reporting teenagers to the police for socialising during 'lockdown' - how punk is that?!

@@dubsurgeon1742 More bullshit projection. My comments about one fucking video does not define me as a person. You can sit there and talk shit yet you reveal nothing. Yeah I'm a poseur who still plays and writes music long after most of my peers gave up on it long ago. Started in 1978 and will probably die with my bass in my lap. Played hundreds of shows. I doubt you have done anything close to what I've achieved little beta man.
