To be fair, most gacha games have an auto button. The thing is that the auto button is only for low level enemies that can barely scratch you. If you are max level and you try to auto battle a high level boss in say Pokemon Masters Ex, you lose horribly.
Weirdly the best gacha I've ever played were installments in long-established and respected series (Ys and Star Ocean), where it felt like their instinct to force the gacha system was stymied by their compulsion to make a *good* game. Unfortunately , the Star Ocean one shut down (didnt make enough money), and the Ys one is super new so well have to see how it goes in future

When it was still up I surprisingly loved Tales of CRESTORIA (still miss it to this day, F u bamco) and Tales of the Rays (which thankfully is still going but the global version shutdown) is like a huge love letter to the Tales series, I also like it’s approach of giving you all the characters, excluding collab and new ones, and the gacha was for the artes and mystic artes. I don’t know where I was going with this I just thought those games were pretty cool. How was the Star Ocean one like?
The only game I have played on my phone so far was "Fire Emblem Heroes", and I stopped that a few months in... it was not this predatory, and I am kind of glad both that I stopped playing it, and that it was not this filled with ads.
Generally good video that makes good points about raid, and just mobile gakes in general! One nitpick i would like to make tho is that fortnite is, in fact, always trying to sell you stuff. It is an actual game and is actually free, though, so it's still a decent comparison
I play gacha games, but I haven't tried Raid specifically because of thier overly aggressive advertising campaign. They seem a bit like what Runescape turned into back when Jagex was getting sold over and over to different companies that didn't care about the game.
I'm playing No Man's Sky while I listen to this video. Three types of currency, none of which even can be bought with real money, tons of content, updates and patches, all free to those who own the base game or has a Game Pass subscription, and it recently released on the Switch. Care to review that version?
I don't know if you are going to get paid for the sponsorship. Nux Taku once made an entire video saying Raid was an amazing sensational meme for his ad deal, and they refused to pay. You don't seem to like this game very much. Tbh it's one of the worst gacha games I've ever seen from what's in this video.
And on the other side we've got folks like Matt Easton, who seems for all the world to be a RSL _enthusiast._ Sponsors are so bad for youtube... I understand the need for money but it sucks that basically none of the sponsors out there are ethical.
OK, you dont have to like RAID Shadowlegends and its game mechanics as a Pay to win game. But Suris, having a Magic the Gathering video channel, promotes a big Pay 2 Win Game himself??? Like in MtG in RAID the essential part is preparing for the game. In MtG buying cards and constructing your deck. In RAID you build and equip your champions. In both games the actual gameplay is only a test if your prepared setup wins or loses. I dont see a difference between the 2 systems.Only one is on paper and the other on the internet.
Argument 1, Proxies exist in MTG. Argument 2, friends can give you cards in MTG, we can trade cards around to negate most of the cost Argument 3, Buying a game is ok, buying a starter MTG deck is all you need to play the main format everyone plays. That doesnt make it pay to win, that makes it pay to play, like most video games. You pay for the game, you own it. You pay for the deck, you own it.
I beg to cintradict. It runs on a computer, handheld or stationary. It exists to entertain its user. It displays its actions as animated scenes aka as a video. So its a video game. q.e.d.
