The panels and mic and everything yes, but you can totally make great vocals with less expensive equipment! I made these purchases as a long term investment for myself and my career :)
FYI everyone, there's a MUCH cheaper version of this that involves a "skeleton" made from PVC tubing and ceiling/walls made from a single mover's blanket. Whole booth should be less than $200.
A low budget solution for beginner artists is a closet with clothes in it!! Not only is it considered free (given you already own a closet and some clothes), but it doesnt take extra storage. Hang blankets or curtains over any doors/opened space (maybe you dont have a door and have an archway instead for example), and if the floor isnt carpet, cover that with blankets too! It may sound crazy, but it gives the same affect when theres a budget. Unfortunately, a big issue with this setup is vocalists cant always stand up when singing due to shelving or general closet layout. If its too constricting, it can always be the temporary solution until you can upgraded. Other than that, hope this helps!! 😁
Great microphone, but those panels, or some kind of room treatment, is the real secret here. You could pair those panels (and another, suspended from the ceiling to allow for taller people under it) and a $150 Audio Technica AT2035 and it would sound incredibly professional. That mic you have is a lot of people’s “dream microphone.” Show some details of the panels you are using for everybody. Great setup.
Even a thin blanket over the top will do wonders, brilliant touch. If you can swing it, a second wall behind you, 3-4 inches of thickness is MAGIC, especially with mixing. Cool thing with that is you can move the wall behind you as far back as you need to control the "openess" of your sound, I personally start with the dampening 4ft behind me and move it back if it comes through boxing, bassy, etc. Sometimes purely tight clean takes aren't what the track needs. This wall is far better than gimmicky vocal shields.

Rather than spending that much money on a mic I would invest in some proper acoustics. Also building the acoustic panels yourself is a lot cheaper. Dont use rockwool as it might be harmful to your lungs (use hempfire, isolating foams or recycled jeans). Also a booth is very suboptimal because the close walls will lead to (probably) unwanted interference and negatively impact the quality of the recording. The walls should be at least 1,5m (5ft) away from the Mic.

Honestly those walls make a huge difference alone
Yes they are so good!!
what are they called on amazon
@@2kTV2 just look up stand up studio recording, maybe throw in walls at the end. pick whichever one u want
That’s a good setup. I personally just go with the Kaotica eyeball. The only rooms in my house with carpet are bedrooms, and I don’t think my wife would appreciate me setting up a portable booth in our room😂
I understand 😂
Never heard of that before, thank you @brian_b_music!
@@sifritubeful you are welcome. My producer has been using one for years. I just starting recording a little bit myself again, and it’s definitely a good investment.
@@brian_b_music thank you for sharing! So would you say it is a good replacement for a vocal booth? Does it perform well enough?
@@sifritubeful You’re welcome, and yeah they are awesome. I honestly don’t record in a booth anymore. I would definitely lose the pop filter and get one of these, it’s worth it.
Who is manufacturer of the walls?
Can’t see on Thomann
The brand is clearsonic but don't know the manufacturer
what are the thomann walls called?
I overlooked your comment, sorry! Here :) www.thomann.de/dk/clearsonic_s2466x2_s5_2d_sorber.htm
Clear Sonic Sorber baffles
What is the material madhe of?
I actually don't know. Maybe you can read about it here: www.thomann.de/dk/clearsonic_s2466x2_s5_2d_sorber.htm
Who makes these foldable sound panels?
I bought then here: www.thomann.de/dk/clearsonic_s2466x2_s5_2d_sorber.htm
@@christine_bulow Thank you
i purchased a e-mart backup stand $30 + hung blankets :-) little less expensive
And the results?
Really good! I record all my final vocals with this setup
Incorrect video title.
How come?😊
You not actually making anything. More Like using bought things to setup up a booth is more accurate. @@christine_bulow
I’m glad I came across this❤ I wanna invest into something like that for my setup for my apartment
It has helped me a lot! hope it'll help you as well
@@christine_bulow I even got me a isolation ball like the Kaotica Eyeball and maneee my new unreleased songs my vocals seem more forward soo I’m really hype about it 😂🔥Then, combining this too it would be perfect :)
How many of those accoustic panels did you buy?
I bought Two🥰
best solution ever bravo !
I’m happy you Like it!
Glad to see someone not using those silly shrouds. Anyone using a dynamic and/or cardioid mic is spending a lot more than those help the recording quality
That makes no sense. Dynamics are often cheaper than condensers
@@Davo198 I think you misunderstood my comment. I'm saying that the shroud costs more than a lot of dynamic microphones and has basically no benefit (bc dynamics aren't very sensitive to room noise anyway). That vs a spending that money on a condenser, which would be very noticeably more detailed but actually needs the room isolation (which, again, the shrouds do NOTHING for)
How much do just the walls cost
You Can find them here: www.thomann.de/dk/clearsonic_s2466x2_s5_2d_sorber.htm
@christine_bulow it comes with one panel per purchase, but it's only 2.045 kr which in candian conversion to 27 cents is that right
@@ksmooth7667 it's in thousands I believe. It comes as a double sided panel
