      [5] And the Pharisees and scribes asked him: Why do not thy disciples walk according to the tradition of the ancients, but they eat bread with common hands? [6] But he answering, said to them: Well did Isaias prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written: This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. [7] And in vain to they worship me, teaching doctrines and precepts of men. [8] For leaving the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men, the washing of pots and of cups: and many other things you do like to these. [9] And he said to them: Well do you make void the commandment of God, that you may keep your own tradition. [10] For Moses said: Honor thy father and thy mother; and He that shall curse father or mother, dying let him die. [11] But you say: If a man shall say to his father or mother, Corban, (which is a gift,) whatsoever is from me, shall profit thee. [12] And further you suffer him not to do any thing for his father or mother, [13] Making void the word of God by your own tradition, which you have given forth. And many other such like things you do.

    I guess this guy never read the scripture in Romans 2 where Paul states that God has written His word on ALL men's hearts so, ALL men have goodness in them. It's up to them to decide to listen to the word of God written on their hearts or not, but to say that God's word isn't good, well, that's blasphemy.

    • @Truth_not_deception1

      Did you listen to what his response was in 60 minutes interview?
      He said, “…yes there are some rogues and sinners, but the heart itself is good.”
      So where in Scripture does it say “man’s heart is good?”
      Those who are called by God according to His purpose are able to do the good works of God, bearing good fruit.
      The heart of man is wicked…
      It is only through God working in us that we do anything good…
      Those who are given to Jesus Christ, by God, are able to bear good fruit, not because their heart is good, but because in Christ we have new life, we are called out of darkness and into the light…
      God is good…
      Man is not good…
      If man was good why did Jesus Christ have to die?

    • @YankeeWoodcraft

      @@Truth_not_deception1 Did you hear what God said when He created man? That it was good (including man). We were all created to be good, not to be bad.

      @@Truth_not_deception1 "It is only through God working in us that we do anything good…"
      I think that's Calvinism, right? The belief that we don't have free will and that God controls us 100%?
      You don't believe that man can do goodness out of their own will (like the woman who washed Jesus' face on his way to being crucified)? You think that moment was manifested by God, not her own will?

    • @Comictime2011
      @Comictime2011 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@YankeeWoodcraft So, if you're talking about Romans 2:15, it doesn't actually talk about ALL men, just Gentiles. And in particular, Gentiles that practice the law without thier knowledge. In this case, the law is written upon thier heart.
      We do need to take into account Romans 1, that says that man's hearts were darkened v.21, and the end of Romans 2, in which the circumcision of the heart is done by the Spirit. In this case the Holy Spirit.
      Sin has darkened men's hearts so that they do not practice the law, but those who do practice the law have hearts enlightened by the Holy Spirit. All of men's hearts are uncircumcised until circumcised by God.
      And, the creation of man as good is pre-fall. All those born in sin have darkened hearts unless they are reborn in Christ and given a new heart by the Spirit.

    • @Comictime2011
      @Comictime2011 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@YankeeWoodcraft We have a creaturely will to do what our hearts desire. If we are enslaved to our flesh, we do the deeds of the flesh, which is sin. If we are enslaved to Christ, we do the deeds of Christ, which is obedience to God.
      God restrains the desires of our hearts. From what I understand he doesn't directly controls our actions. He replaces hearts, granting faith and repentance, restrains hearts, allowing them to do good or just not be as evil as they could, or releases hearts, allowing men to sink to the lowest depths of thier rebellion to demonstrate his wrath both in time and throughout eternity. Man still acts according to his will.
      So the woman in your example desired to do a good act in washing Jesus's face, because God worked in her heart just a tiny amount so she desired to help Jesus of her own will.
