I love how Akuma & Gouken’s themes are not only inversions of each other, but perfectly compliment each other… to create a complete tune, when paired together… a perfect representation of Yin & Yang. When I hear them mixed, I don’t see two brothers fighting each other, but standing back to back, fighting together, in harmony, as one!

Perfect music for when they fought for Ryu in SF4
Yin and Yang is from Taoism which represents opposing and complimenting forces but that they can also become each other so not exactly perfect.

It's not a perfect mesh beyond the intro and 1st bridge but I think that actually makes sense in a story line sense

Gouken’s theme is more in the forefront while Akuma’s is more in the background, like a dangerous assassin. Feels that way to me anyhow.
If they ask me: "Have you ever seen of a fight between Akuma and Gouken?"

No. They were made to go together like this, but they were not made as a single song and then split. Akuma's theme existed way before Gouken's did.
@@whirl3690 Akuma's theme in sf2 came way before gouken's theme in sf4, but their sf4 themes came at the same time so that's invalid.

@@whirl3690 i know that, but what rafastyle could be saying is that when his sf4 theme was getting remade, it was also made alongside Gouken's theme. Gouken's theme is also based off of Akuma's theme

While SF4 ost never stood out to me. The play between these themes and their vs Ryu themes really make me look back and love this OST. Really interesting motif usage.
One has hair on their head. And the other? Well let's say he has hair on his face. Which side shall come out victorious?

I think if you combine Ansatsuken with Power of Nothingness it will be the perfect marial arts.
Im guessing based on the lore their separate themes when combined are meant to be one song and reflect the duality of man in a way in terms of their paths gouken choosing the path of light while akuma the path of darkness almost like ying and yang they balance one another
