Your love and enthusiasm for desert exploring is infectious. I live in Oregon, and cannot wait to come explore The Swell this fall in my Tacoma I’ve been outfitting. Thanks for sharing, and thank you for offering up water to those in need.
I love seeing a channel where you don’t spend a fortune on all the top of the line gear! It makes it a lot more relatable. I have a Tacoma, but other than the lift and KO2’s it’s pretty much stock other than a few small things here and there. Keep up the good videos!
Thanks, Stuart. While I like gear, what I love most is the adventure. So much adventure can be had with moderate builds and camping gear you likely have in your garage already or that can be found cheap on your local classifieds. Like most I am on a budget, my channel and vehicle are funded by my very average day job. I am a big fan of using what you have until it wears out or no longer meets your needs. I have had my current sleeping bag since I was 16. It's been ripping for a few months and I am not looking forward to replacing it.
Very nice video! So nice to see in your videos that you are getting your kids involved first hand! This world needs more of these types of activities involving kids. Good job! Thank you!
I really like your style of exploration. Southern and central Utah are some of our favorite places to go off the beaten path. The trees are mostly Juniper. Maybe one day we’ll cross path on the trail.
Thanks Guy! Utah is such an incredible place! Looks like I need to do a bit of reading on Junipers. If you ever see me out on the trail please flag me down!
My wife and I always find ourselves going back to that same exact area. So many fun places to explore, plus you can’t beat the solitude. Awesome video as always!
Thanks so much! I have a few trips ready to edit. A few of my favorite previous adventures. My Expedition Utah Trip. Pony Express Trail. And 20 minutes in Moab.
Desert sunrises are vastly underrated. I think sunsets get all the publicity is because people are awake. I'm typically more impressed with sunrises than sunsets.
Thanks! The answer is sometimes. He likes to do it. We cover a lot of miles on our trips which for kids can sometimes be boring so it’s a way to keep him involved and active. Most of the time he shoots about 10-15%. This trip he did almost all of it. Normally I use a dslr on a tripod. So I just set it up for the shots I want. However I forgot the extra battery and charger so we ran out of battery for the dslr the first day. So this was all shot on GoPro or my cell phone and with no tripod for those he did an awesome job filming.
With all the craziness this year thanks for taking me outdoors with you. Much appreciated.
Love the Swell.
💯

Thanks! You will love exploring this fall. It’s the perfect time to head to the Swell.

Fantastic! Unbelievable scenery, awesome trails, great finds! Another excellent Backroad Exploration episode, loved it!
Soaking up as much warm weather as possible!
Fun trip dude
Thanks! This was a really cool area. I’ve cross crossed portions of it on other trips but also a lot of new tracks which was fun.

Thanks Larry. One of the main reasons for doing this is to spend time in the outdoors with my kids.

It’s beautiful and so much to explore. If you are into hiking lots of good slot canyons as well to explore.
Very nice video. We just found your channel. Glad we did.
Thanks so much for watching. A few of my other favorites are my recent trip to Moab. My Pony Express trial trip and my Expedition Utah trip.
@@BackroadExploration we will check them out. Thanks
I just subscribed!!!!, and I’m glad I did. Keep up the great videos.

Couldn’t agree more! They are beautiful. It’s one of the best things about adventures like this.
Thanks for another great video. That sun rise was epic for sure. The trail to the old home stead looked like fun.
It was really cool! Lots of ups and downs. A few decent rocky sections. I plan to use it a few more times to access other areas in the area.
Does your son do the filming? He does a great job.
