- OVERNIGHT CAMPING IN KALANGGAMAN ISLAND | LEYTE, PHILIPPINES
We ventured in booking an overnight camping in Kalanggaman Island of Leyte province. Unfortunately, halfway to the island we were greeted by big waves and a not so good weather. The weather at that time is not appropriate for camping but we still did it. Though we weren't able to enjoy that much, we gained experience of how is it leaving in an isolated island during stormy season, at least for a night. As an overview, the island looks stunning despite of the weather condition. Of course, one of these days, we might be going back to this island during summer to fly our drone. We recommend doing a day trip at least to visit the island.

During the typhoon season it can be dangerous to take the boat and visit many of those beautiful islands in the Philippines. In December 2017 I had to cancel my trip to malapasqua and kalanggaman due the typhoon urdija no boats were allowed to sail. But next April I’ll be there and this time hope to visit this little paradise.

I was there last May. You'll enjoy it. No fresh water on the island but your bangka will give u at least 2 big gallons for rinsing purposes. Sand is good. Not too powdery pero di din mabato

how long is your boat riding going to kalanggaman from malapascua ..and it is a rough ride because i have fear of riding a boat when it is too far
SecretBeach Palawan It is around 1 hour depending on the boat and weather condition. We recommend avoiding stormy and rainy weather as it can be a rough ride. It is rather suited to go there on a clear sunny day.

From Leyte go to palompon and there you can take the boat to kalanggaman. It’s closer than from malapasqua

Noi am inchiriat o barca impreuna cu altcineva care era interesat as doarma acolo asa ca ne-am tocmit cu barcangiu ptr inchiriatul barci direct, iar pentru insula este un birou acolo unde platesti ptr dormit acolo si poti inchiria cort. Noi am venit din Malapascua si de intors ne-au lasat intrun port in Cebu. Daca doriti sa faceti day trip sau overnight sunt island hopping tours available cu tour operators in Cebu or Malapascua. Nu trebuie booking ahead of time, k puteti face cu 1 zi inainte programarea. Mult success si distraction placuta. Numai sa prindeti vreme buna ca altfel nu merg barcile acolo si este periculos din cauza valurilor foarte mari sa ajungeti acolo. Sa mergeti cand este soare. Regina O Hi. Only small cabanas and tents are available for rent on this island. No resorts there yet

How much did you pay for the boat ride? Is that for 2 pax? Round trip
purple thartz don't remember exactly how much the overnight boat rental with crew was, think anything between 3k to 5k. We found some other group on the Malapascua beach who wanted to do overnight and we shared the cost. We asked on the beach in Malapascua and found a medium size boat with crew and negotiate the price. No resorts on this island. You can rent pop up tents and small sleeping chalets on the island for the night. Make sure you go on a sunny and not clouded day as travel to the Island can be challenging on raining days. You can also do day trip from Malapascua or Leyte and the cost is less, somewere aroynd 1k to 2k

Josan Hall Hi Josan. At the moment we visited this island no bookings were required. Just pop in and when you land approach the management office boot and rent your tent or small sleeping chalet
How long is the boat ride to the island kalanggman?
Jem Peñaflor not sure, think around 1h, it depends on the weather conditions at sea

Perfect Sinner because of the sand bar is like a wings
In the past years the island is a bird sanctuary during night and they fly back to the nearby paces during daytime.
