The level of impunity and destruction may not be about to stop. I remember in the year 2019, I under our umbrella of Walkers Association of Uganda together with Friends of Zoka, sponsored by Ministry of Water and Environment, walked from Kampala to Adjumani to raise the plight of the forest. But seems the destruction is worsening. Where will Zoka ehist in the next 20 years?
this is heartbreaking but also hope-filling.. exactly how most of the forests that Bunyoro prided in years ago, that our ancestors kept safe for us, got literary whipped off.. with dire climate consequencies today!
I believe one of the ways of combating this issue is to create/encourage other alternative and sustainable sources of livelihood. It’s difficult or close to impossible to convince people to surrender charcoal burning when it’s the only means they know can feed them/earn them some money, unless of course we use the other alternative which is Force (but how long can we sustain forceful means) and at what cost. Let me know what you think.
Very insightful....thank you, Mr. Amanzuru for your dedication to save our forest. Our leaders are just bunch of idiyoots.
Brave people like William Amanzuru and the Friends of Zoka make me hoping that our planet shall survive. Thank you for what you are doing day by day.

We have to continue amplifying voices and save our mother planet beyond threats and intimidations.
I watched this video while crying. Zoka forest is just a tip of an iceberg of all Forests in Ugannda.

Thank you for the comment. 🙏
Unfortunately it's not the people around who deplete it but from other regions. How sad?
Oh my God! tell them but be careful.
Solomon I was told you are actually a forester, is that true?
