It is an 18-piece orchestration of the same theme with solo instruments reiterating the same theme, until the 13th variation when the full strings finally kick in and the crescendo builds momentum to an abrupt end. It is an ingenious work of musical arts that does nothing but excite and enthrall the audience, and I absolutely love it!

Esse andamento de 17 minutos era o que Maurice Ravel achava ser o ideal pois, assim era possível ouvir as notas de cada instrumento. Ele sempre refutava a tese de que essa melodia era repetitiva mesmo voltando ao tema inúmeras vezes durante toda a sua execução. Eu particularmente concordo com ele afinal, ele é o "pai" dessa maravilhosa composição!
