  • As Joseph Smith translates the Book of Mormon, Martin Harris loses 116 pages of the manuscript. How could this have happened? This history proves the love of the Savior no matter what mistakes we make.

Thank you, thank you. Today our Gospel Doctrine teacher engaged us in conversation of 3 and 5 then asked if someone would read Section 4 aloud but immediately changed it to, “ Would the men read it out loud? No, would all the return missionaries read it out loud? No, we are all children; would you all read it out loud?” What followed next was the most Spirit filled room of neighbors and friends reading aloud the instruction of our Father in Heaven for His children. Thank you for such a power filled lesson ♥

Martin Harris is characterized as someone who cockyly becomes the humble servant after repenting of his wickedness.

Great job covering the early events surrounding the coming forth of the Book of Mormon. May I suggest that you read “The Lost 116 Pages: Reconstructing the Book of Mormon’s Missing Stores” by Don Bradley. It will change the entire paradigm of how you view the lost 116 pages. Brother Bradley does a deep dive into the history surrounding the 116 pages. It’s fascinating.

I feel for Joseph he was under pressure plus being poor.

Yes, he brought forth such great truths which many people are sadly afraid to look into, honestly evaluate, or trust as true.

Doesn't it say (?) that the 116 pages were altered by enemies of the Church?
