2024 ArcFox αS5 in-depth Walkaround
On June 15, ArcFox officially launched its αS5 (Alpha S5) all-electric sedan, priced between 176,800 and 216,800 yuan (24,400 to 29,900 USD). This model is available in both two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive versions. ArcFox, an electric car brand under BAIC, was established in 2016 with a focus on the mid to high-end market segment.
The Alpha S5 boasts impressive performance metrics, accelerating from 0-100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds and featuring a braking distance of 33.5 meters from 100 to 0 km/h. The car's exterior design emphasizes a sports coupe style, with a forward-swooping front hood, sharp headlights, and an active air intake grille. It is available in several body colors, including Nebula Pink, Vision White, Diamond Black, Alpha White, and Ice Gray.
Aerodynamic efficiency is a key feature of the Alpha S5, with a drag coefficient of 0.1925Cd. The vehicle measures 4820mm in length, 1930mm in width, 1480mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2900mm. Inside, the smart cockpit includes a 68-inch AR-HUD, a 15.6-inch central control screen powered by a Qualcomm 8155 chip, and a 7.1-channel 15-speaker surround sound system.
The interior of the Alpha S5 is designed for comfort and luxury, offering integrated sports cloud velvet seats, microcloud fiber velvet premium leather, and three color options: fog brown, light gray, and energy black. Additionally, the car is equipped with 16 ambient lights with 256 color changes, 18 scene linkages, a starry sky curtain, and 24 storage spaces, along with a trunk volume of 430 liters.
For driving assistance and handling, the Alpha S5 features APA automatic parking, RPA remote parking, corner parking, and a four-stage RS valve system shock absorber. The vehicle also includes an all-aluminum rear subframe, a forged aluminum swing arm, and a hollow stabilizer bar, enhancing its handling and driving experience.
