    There was one negative comment but as the saying goes well “somebody has no taste.” My favorite guitars are Martín, but Maton, Taylor, Gibson, Santa Cruz all have Gems. There are handmade guitars here in Mexico that are wonderful. Tommy could tie one string to a log and come up with something great.

    There is an aphorism that says "it's not the arrow, it's the Indian". I think it wouldn't matter exactly what artifact you put into Tommy's hands. The guitar he holds is wonderful, but his hands are even more so. A great person and a unique musician.

    I must say that T.E’s wonderful touch is largely magnified by the Martin sound (with the boosted bass and treble, and hollow mids)

      It's Tommy's playing that makes this Martin sound so good. He prefers to play a Maton EBG-808....... If a Martin, Santa Cruz, Collings or Gibson was better, he'd play one of those.

    • @SergeCeyral
      @SergeCeyral 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tbeau6663 for sure. But if you consider all paramerers, things turn pretty tricky : as an australian fellow, TE might find more convenient to play local guitars ( if they’re excellent) rather than à foreign model. Maybe Maton gives him more guitars than Martin would do...

    You want a rhythmic toe-rapper, you got it^. (And that's the reason he's tapping his toe.) This guy was so incredibly good 57 years ago (I think he's about 102 now), that the guitar stuff was just secondary. Their act in the beginning was loosely based around sort of a vaudevillian comedy shtick reminiscent of Victor Borge's act. His performances now are purely mind-defying talent and skill. He NEVER goofs up. He can go on _live_ for 20 minutes straight and not be guilty of one glitch. At his age (actually 67), there's a lot of people who can do good just to remember what they did with their car keys. But he's knocking it out just like he's 20. What an inspiration and treasure. And yeah - that guitar deserves to be a signature TE Martin, if anything does. (But I do understand exclusive contracts.) But it's good to see an icon playing an icon.

    The more a good acoustic, tuned properly with the best strings for that particular instrument, is played -the more it wakes up and expresses itself. It's like exercising a human body - the circulation improves. Circulation in an acoustic is how the nuances come out to be heard.
