So, this song means a lot to me because its a lyrical masterpiece. So many of the words pulled me to editing to this song and I want to analyze it a little bit. (my favorite lines) SO lets start from the beginning. The first line that stands out to me is "We're too young to hold this all on our own." This directly relates to the fact that they are just kids, who need Aslan. They couldn't do it without him. Just like we need God. Next "All that cane and went." ouch. cry. When they fell threw the wardrobe and lost everything they had in a heartbeat. I can't. "There's a bottle full of tears on the dresser drawer." I immediately thought about Susan, and the way she looks at the photograph of them on the desk. Deep down she knows she loved it, she loved Narnia. "NOBODY KNOWS THE PRICE OF THIS DREAM." the number one reason I decided to make this edit. Even the best things come with a price.... and for them thats leaving. The adventure ending. They leave not knowing if or when they get to come back. That's the price of this dream. It isn't forever (in this life). and also "Nobody knows what it took to believe..." that line says it all as well. Accepting the fact that Narnia exists also causes the kids to accept the fact that they cannot stay forever.... especially in PC, knowing they WILL have to leave again. But they choose to believe anyway, because the time they do have in Narnia is worth it. "We've got just one life." they are living. they are fighting for the land and the people they love. they take advantage of that happiness. "All that we fought to heal.." there were so many dangerous times in Narnia that they faced with bravery. Such bravery that most kids wouldn't have. "Close your eyes and cry, dying for the right to feel." The scenes I used in the video for this part don't correspond with my actual thought about this line. The first thing I though was. "Oh, when they're in England. They're dying to try to feel the way that Narnia makes them feel." but there was no scene emotional enough in England for me to portray that. "Of forgotten tears falling on the silent ground." I used the scene of Lucy remembering the lamppost, because it flashes back to when (forgotten) snowflakes used to fall on the ground. "how did we get this far?" (from entering wardrobe to leaving forever) "its like flying on the wings of god" (Aslan back. cry 😭) SO yeah. That was some of my thought process while making this video. I hope you guys enjoy xx oh and if you read all this, I love you.
