Music video by Foster The People performing Pseudologia Fantastica. (C) 2014 Columbia Records, a Division of Sony Music Entertainment
One of those few songs that gets better each time you hear it.
cannot agree more.
Yes
This tune gets better and better with each listen. Which says volumes about the quality of songwriting, musicianship and production.
this song is a masterpiece
Ive listened to the whole album and can say this:
1. A Beginners Guide to destroying the Moon sounds similar to Helena Beat
2. Best Friend and Ask Yourself (and maybe Coming of Age) sounds anything you might expect on Album 1
3. Goats in Trees and Fire Escape are more slow and acoustic, but I believe any true alternative artist should have their acapella acts
4. Every track in torches was unique and used all kinds of synth, guitar, piano, vocals, mixing etc.same thing in Supermodel
5. The album is amazing, different but very original.
6. The aahs, woos, and doop doos still appear
Looks like you know the album pretty well. And so far after my first try of a few songs. Only disappointment came, like I didn't know them anymore. And whats funny is that after giving them another go, I recognized and refamiliarized myself again with Foster! Their music grows into you. Thats all i can say.
Haven't heard all of them and I want to know and skip to the song, if there is, with as much impact as Pumped Up Kicks. Is there one in the album?
If you want a mainstream like sound, go listen to "Best Friend". Coming of age is most likely going to be their biggest here. Also "The Truth" Sounds exacty like a Torches song
It doesnt sound EXACTLY like Helena beat, however it does have that Grunge rock style to it as they both are kind of that stand-out track in the album (both albums)
thats actually a good way of putting it
Robyn Retro It does it has a much darker element on the album like Helena Beat, I agree with him anyway
now this, this is memories
So good! Foster you know to make music! Pumped for Supermodel!
love the sound of this song, brings back a lost genre of golden age.
Reminds me of Tears For Fears with a bit of Coldplay, both bands I love.
Jeff Archuleta totally!
I could not said it better myself
Jeff Archuleta also pink floyd
I dunno why some people wnt them to sound as their usual. An album reflects growth and experiences so it is bound to be different from the last one
That's exactly what I try to explain to my friends. They don't want to admit that a band can evolve in its style. Plus, I really think that Supermodel is summed up in the song "Coming of age". This band is more mature and the music is much more sought than it was in Torches. While Torches was a good album but just a bunch of songs, Supermodel is a story, a story wonderfully narrated by someone who went through many emotions these last years.
This album is great and special somehow. You really need to listen it more and more to understand why it is so awesome imo.
Dude i just fucking love foster they just have that style that when u hear it your like yup thats foster ! no other band right now has that imo
They've admitted torches was thrown together in a rush to get an album out for the record company. Torches showed everyone that they could pull a catchy tune out of their ass but supermodel shows they are a much deeper band and not some commercialized boy band that can't even sing live. Mark foster live is incredible
+Joanna Garcia Agreed. i went to see Him 22nd March 2014 THE DAY THEIR ALBUM CAME OUT and it was fucking awesome... and i think they're abit underrated. I'm a massive Hip Hop fan and i make Hip Hop music but Foster The People is definitely one of the those thing that are not from your particular genre that you love. The physcadelic rock/pop they make is really something special, you can tell they put alot into their work to get the right sound that has that rawness but it is also trippy to listen to - like this music expands my consciousness and i love that. Also Mark is such a great lyricist!! honestly they dont get enough credit and it annoyed the fuck out of me that TheNeedleDrop didn;t review it, like honestly it's not generic, it's great. PEACE OUT
That sentiment might come from a portion of the "audience" that prefers rock music over alternative. Foo Fighters sound relatively similar across albums. Foster The People doesn't.
This song and "Coming of Age": both so different yet both SO SO good!
They are going to win a Grammy with this album. Save this comment
I think Mark Foster has proved that he is a great composer/artist that is beyond any music made by grammy "winners".They just don't need it.
Eduardo Bahamonde Mark Foster is a very intelligent person. He knows what he's doing.
Well...
Que
Bestie I hate to tell you this but...
They played this live at a music festival that I went to last year and I swear it sounds even better live.
are you kidding me this a work of genius? This is like the 21 century of Dark side of the moon
Is that a good thing?
Of course that's a good thing
Foster... thank you for making good music, I absolutely love it
It wouldn't be a Foster the People song without a piano break!
Im glad they're expirimenting. Why would we want an album that sounds exactly like the last?
I mean the thing is musicians are suppose to take the unique sound that defined them in the first album and implement and improve it into the second album. Almost exactly what Vampire Weekend did, which has obviously brought them success and a nice cigarette burn in the industry. But either way, Supermodel is still superb on its own plateau, when compared to Torches.
Everyone likes the same old usually there not open to change, thats why sophomore albums never do good. People are always expecting the muse before, and they cant accept that nothing stays the same.
Because its fucking awesome.
Ansar M. Smith
Listen to the first album then, it's great, it'll always be there for you to listen to whenever you want. Meanwhile, let them give us something new and fresh to listen to, rather than something old and stale. If a band don't change they'll never explore anything new and that would be boring.
exactly! anyway, i love that jack frost ;)
Love that they're getting into a more Psychedelic sound/feel. Mark Foster is brilliant.
Welcome back guys.
i know right i saw them last summer and it was one best times iv ever had :)
I saw these guys in Vancouver on May 21, 2014 and I can say that this guys are so pure and real. They sounded even more amazing live. It's the best concert I have ever gone to and trust me, when they come back, I'm definitely going.
Coming from someone who listens to a lot of van halen, pink Floyd, 90's trip hop, 90s/2000s hip hop, etc I'm blown away.. Lots of different sounds from all genres, use of vocals and guitar are amazing....
Masterpiece song. So much nostalgia for me on this one. When this came out, I was 24 and I remember cruising down I-95 in Philly listening to this on the radio when it first came out and just being blown away. Man, how time flies...
the artwork is awesome Young & Sick are great
This song gives me goosebumps every time!
Great mood, melody, lyrics and production! 🤩
Foster the People have a knack for writing catchy, beautiful melodies. They are essentially radio-friendly geniuses
This album is just too perfect and pure genius. Foster The People have taken their talents to a whole new level. You can tell Mark didn't want an album full of catchy beats, he wanted to actually write a meaningful album and pour his feelings into the lyrics. All the songs have great rhythm and the lyrics flow perfectly. Listen to the lyrics and enjoy the music, people!
this song has the 90s feeling :) I like it !!!
Their songs make me so happy.
Especially pumped up kicks
"Supermodel" looks like it's shaping up to be a huge step forward for #Foster!
Definitely my favorite of the 3 I've heard
There's four! Pseudologia Fantastica, Coming of Age, Best Friend, and A Beginner's Guide To Destroying The Moon :)
My album is now complete I have torches and supermodel! Love u foster the people
I love you foster the People 😍😘😘😘😘
Missed Foster the People, awesome song!
if traveling through dimensions had a song it would be this one
i hope "Best Friend" is their next single tho...
Absolutely :) ☯
I love that song!!
I love the title, PSEUDO video.
i love alll of his songs no matter what
Totally obsessed with this song
this is my favorite track from supermodel :')
:'D la mejor canción de foster the people para mi
The fact they experimented with a different style this album and still maintained to sound amazing is a testament to how good Foster the People is!!! Can't wait to see them at Coachella!
This will be the best for any soundtrack movie, game, comercial
This song never ceases to make me euphoric whenever I play it.
Muy buena la canción.. diferente, única. :)
Can't wait until this album comes out!!!!
This is GREAT! Another style but still awesome. :)
Liking the feel of this song. I cant say whether Coming of Age or Psuedologia Fantastica is better because it has two different vibes and emotions. Mark has a higher voice in this making it funkier with the added suble bass and guitar riffs. But i like it. I think Supermodel is going to be a very good album from what we have to here so far.
can't wait for the whole album!! :D
This definitely needs to grow on most to truly appreciate it.
Seeing them live in Tulsa in April! This song grows on you! His Falsetto reminds me of the beach boys.
hahaha bro . Mark Foster himself said in an interview that his all-time favorite track is a Beach Boys' song
your kidding!
OMG this new album is awesome! Fosterer 4 ever!
So many bands going back to the 60's..so many bands coming out with the psychedelia..the future is bright.
My guess on their singles for Supermodel:
1. Coming of Age
2. Pseudologia Fantastica
3. Best Friend
4. A Beginner's Guide to Destroying the Moon
5. Fire Escape or Are You What You Want to Be?
I'm thinking Are You What You Want to Be? would be 4th, and if they do have a 5th single, it would be A Beginner's Guide to Destroying the Moon. Fire Escape isn't going to be a single.
Lo mejor sin duda a primera vista adelante coming of age con la mayoría de edad
My guess would be:
1) Coming of Age
2) Best Friend
3) The Truth
4) Are You What You Want To Be?
It's like I'm listening to greatness.
This song is on some intergalactic stuff. Incredible.

I really like all the songs that I've heard so far.. They are SO good and yes, the album may be a little bit darker than "Torches", but I think that it's amazing when artists try new styles and try to make new stuff. I mean, they rock!
This has made my day so much better
