Wonderful job explaining and demonstrating! Love your pace. Funny - I couldn’t get my old air filter out. After viewing your video I learned that my filter had been installed backwards and the tabs were inside rather than outside. With a little prying with a screwdriver I got it out. Mystery solved. Thanks!
Hello, thank you for the information regarding installing air filter. I bought a new air filter based on the model and it doesn’t have a space for the indicator. And a suggestions? Thanks in advance.
Mine was too but I was able to close it. In the video when the filter door is open you will see 4 tabs, l large and 1 small on each side. I took a very small screw driver and pressed the small tab on the left side in and the door was able to be closed. If need be you can manipulate 2 small screw drivers, press in on both small tabs and have a partner close it. Uncalled for pain in the ass no matter what. I hope this helps someone.
Either your filter tabs are too stiff so you need more force in your fingers to pry them or you have a different type of filter (a sliding one) or there is dirt and grime and it's glued itself in there so you need to empty the fridge and soften it up and clean it
Just bought a new whirlpool and there was no air filter installed. Are these supposed to come with new fridges? I see the fresh flow device and styrofoam in it, but no filter
I just put in the air filter as the installers for the retailer did not. When I opened the cover, there’s styrofoam with 2 holes in it. It doesn’t come out and the filter fits over it fine. I just want to be sure that styrofoam is supposed to remain in there.

That's great! Nice job fixing it yourself!

Thank you for this...Unfortunately, my filter seems to be stuck in the holder...any suggestions for getting it "unstuck"?
Sorry, we haven't run into a stuck filter yet. Let us know what you find as the solution to getting it unstuck.

Great instructions! Can an air filter make noise? Like every 20 minutes or so?
There are no moving parts on the air filter, but it could be sound coming from the air damper? th-cam.com/video/KwLu9IiOq4Q/w-d-xo.html
my four year old fridge had no air filter. do i need to do anything before i install a new filter?
You shouldn't need to do anything but install the filter, as long as it has a spot for one to go.
I can’t close the air filter door. Is there a latch I’m missing?
What is the fan called behind the air filter? Mine is making a loud noise
Are you referring to the ice maker fan motor here: th-cam.com/video/3_eEs7zD4Bk/w-d-xo.html
@@PartsDr No, Its the one in the back of the fridge

Most new refrigerators come with the filter, but it isn't always installed from the factory.

Yes, the styrofoam is supposed to be in there.
I can't get the filter to come out
