I actually agree, Jiyan and Calcharo are peak male design. Some HSR male designs can still compete in my opinion like Blade, Dan Heng (rather Imbibitor Lunae), Boothill, etc. Genshin? Eh...Wriothesley, Zhongli, Alhaitham, and Neuvillette are the closest they have to that level but they are a step below overall. That's my take though.

I think a lot of people like asmon doesn't understand gacha(pgr in general ) games.
1. PGR is not a hardcore game in general. But it has mode like such but really depends but you have an option to make it easier with limited general rewards..
2. PGR is niche because of the lack of marketing and not-so-good new players' experience except for combat lovers.
3. People grow on games, even if it is hard. If you enjoy the gameplay you will play.
And lastly, about character design, their design plays so well with their combat that incomparable to any other gacha. Their design will only grow on you.

It's not a hot take (or shouldn't be one) for one to prefer Kuro games' designs over any other dev's (or vice versa). In the case of Grand Order vs Wuthering Waves, something to note is that the styles are so different, as FGO commissions mostly Japanese artists. Japanese artists have a different style from Korean and Chinese artists, so it really boils down to preference.
That aside, using FGO as an example is a bit difficult--while MHY games and I'm assuming Wuthering Waves use in-house artists, FGO uses different artists, most of which are so drastically different that we get cases like RAITA, who is very much a love/hate his artstyle sort of deal.
It's a beautiful thing, I'd say, for us to be able to enjoy different artstyles.
1:19:36 i think it's more of a female gaze versus a male gaze thing. alhaitham is so much more attractive because he was clearly drawn to appeal to women. the appeal of alhaitham, at least for me, is that you can see his biceps peeking out from his sleeves giving just enough of a peek to draw you in. that wuthering wave character you showed feels more like it was designed to appeal to men tbh, like they wanted a muscled dude but were afraid male players would think they're gay so they covered up all of him lol, at least ditch the sleeves and make it like a tight sleeveless bodysuit that gives you a little peek without revealing everything.

I ain't teccy but the best advice I could give would be doing variety content, covering multiple gacha games. Guidemaking is also too competitive and is far harder now with Mihoyo and Kuro both having creator servers. The best kind of content to do is edited playthroughs/reaction to the story. As well as challenge runs and gimmick builds.

I think the fact that Wuthering Waves has the best male character designs is cool and all, but we all know the waifus is what sells and attracts people the most when speaking of characters design, and that is what Wuthering Waves is missing.

Sports sponsorships is iffy because you have to understand that on top of the sponsorships they are "Allowed" to take, NBA for instance won't let their players on any team wear a sponsor not directly already in the NBA that was made through corporate. Like I could be a player and legitimately own my own shoe company but if I don't have a deal with the NBA already in contract dealing with my business outside of just being a player, I couldn't wear any gear from my company.
Hoyo is basically saying that while under contract, you are our bitch, we dictate your life for as long as the contract is in effect and if you try to take contracts outside of the Hoyo sphere, we can say you broke the contract stipulations and sue you. Alhaitham is pretty awesome. I think he competes with Calcharo. In fact, I like Alhaitham better because he doesn't have the sissy long hair like Calcharo does. But I won't lie, Alhaitham does seem to be the exception, and not the rule for Hoyoverse. They could have made Cyno cool, but they didn't. They made him look like a little boy instead. Xiao looks like an angsty teen. Overall, I think they just try to make a lot of their male characters appeal to kids and teens rather than adults - the exceptions of Alhaitham and Neuvillette not withstanding.
