    Dany uses a Kemper floor unit where she runs one chain to stage amp and two to front of house in stereo. Even though its one guitar she can place different effects on each giving you three distinct guitar tones. Seen them live three times and this is how it sounds. Amazing and huge! 🤘🏼

      Just to backup @telecastersaremetal6648 said, it's worth watching some older videos / breakdowns (~2 years ago) see how The Warning achieved a 'big' sound
      Dany discussing pedal board features that create the layered/multi-track sound at th-cam.com/video/EiyVspVm564/w-d-xo.html
      May also be of interest, again older videos (~2 years ago):

      If people watch Dany you can see her tap the effects box to get a single guitar sound then tap again to get full sound . . . TW trademark sound tbh ❤❤

    That wall of sound is real. You can feel Ale's bass and Pau's drums. And Dany really can sing live as well as the music videos show. Three-part harmony is definitely a highlight.

      You are not kidding, I can still feel Ale’s bass rumbling through my body from the first time I saw the last summer, I was really close to the stage.

      @@holydado Dany and Pau call Ale (bass) their "secret weapon." Not only is she one of the best bass players around, but she knows Dany's voice parts and has a few times sung her parts when Dany was losing her voice but the show must go on. BTW, there is a video where Ale trips on something, falls on her ass, but keeps playing.

    Dany, the guitarist, has a programmable pedal board that can double or triple the guitar signal each in different octaves with different effects. Pau, the drummer, controls it through a laptop on the her left. She has pedals to do the control. Teatro Metropolitan is a Mexico City venue that is the Albert Hall of Mexico. It seats 3000.

      In her "Masterclass" video made after the release of the "Mayday" EP a little over a year ago, Pau specifically said that she no longer controlled/controls Dany's and Ale's pedalboards through her laptop.

    • @mjc1389
      @mjc1389 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      According to Pau at her masterclass at Soundcheck Xpo, she only triggers Dany’s Helix guitar processor to the current song they are playing which Dany could do manually if it was necessary.
      All the presets are stored in the processor and Dany selects with her foot depending on where she is in the song.

    The giant wall of sound they produce is quickly becoming a TW trademark. These Pro shot videos are the closet yet to what they sound like live. But the energy and passion they transfer can only be fully experienced when you’re standing in front of them in the venue. Thanks Bloke!

  • @gregoryvlchek269
    @gregoryvlchek269 ปีที่แล้ว +19

    What you heard is what you get. There is never additional guitars recorded and added after the fact. I've seen them live, and they do sound that HUGE. Because they are a trio and Dany is the only guitarist, she often adds octave/harmonizer effects strictly from her pedalboard to make the sound bigger/thicker.

  • @oldmanyeni1663
    @oldmanyeni1663 ปีที่แล้ว +30

    Thanks for coming back to The Warning. They do use some backing tracks when they play (but they play all the backing track parts, and we have seen that they still deliver a big sound when the tracks fail live). She can also layer guitar on/off with her pedal board in real time. I do not believe there were any post-production tricks or additions after the show in this recording however. I have seen them twice; once in a small club, and once with an audience of about 6000. They do indeed sound this good and have this huge a sound live. It is really impressive, especially for only three pieces. I feel that they often will use their excellent voices together to take the place of keyboard parts as if they had a 4th player. Well written, very well executed.
    The two shows they did took place in Mexico City (CDMX stands for Cuidad de Mexico--Kind of how you might use LON for London, or we colonists would use NYC for New York) this past August. The crowd is ~3000 and was super hyped for the concerts. The first night sold out so fast, they added a second.

    During a gear rundown Dany mentioned separating the channels in time, just a few milliseconds to give a bigger sound and I'm sure it is different for each song. Besides her pedal board the guitar effects are also in the laptop by Pau. The ladies are very adept at using technology to tweak their live output. Pau does a lot of the programming in Ableton herself plus the effects Dany has created in her pedal board and Pau has the ability to start and stop channel outputs on the fly if she has to. So besides drumming and singing Pau is also monitoring their tech and making adjustments. As people have commented she must have an extra brain or two...LOL Much more coordinated than I ever was.

    • @shadowfragment
      @shadowfragment ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I seriously don't understand how Pau does it. Drumming on its own is already coordinating all four limbs at once, and she's singing precisely on top of that, and she's doing live production on top of that. She's much greater than us mere mortals, that's for sure.

    They get an amazingly rich sound live. Last year I was standing a couple arm-lengths in front of Dany at a much smaller venue and I can attest when she hit those guitar strings the walls shook. Couple that with Ale's bass and Pau's drumming and it was like standing down a mini hurricane. They bring the power!

    Here is an original award winning video from 5 years ago. They rocked heavy then "21st Century Blood".
    Title song of their first of 3 albums of original material to date.
    th-cam.com/video/syTyga3lVL0/w-d-xo.html.
    They do use some tracks but they play all parts. You need to see Dany's pedal board. (Also controlled by Pau). It can greatly enhance the guitar sound. By the way, all were playing classical piano by 6yo.
    I think sometimes people lose the bass in the mix. It's more prominent in their music. Sometimes, with the lead guitar (similar to a rythm guitar). Sometimes with the drums and also very independent. Ale is
    awesome.

    If your interested, Dany has a Instagram live feed where she goes over in great detail on how her guitar processor works. I believe it’s a Helix brand Line 6 LT or something like that. It’s available on TH-cam on the Warning Army channel.
    As mentioned previously in the comment section she can do all sorts of layering effects to make it sound like there is more than 1 guitar playing.
    I do believe they use backing tracks for very specific things like Alesia Cara’s backing vocals for the new Enter Sandman song, certain sound effects like in Money and occasionally a fill guitar when Dany is playing a somewhat rare solo.
    It also depends if they’re headlining or opening. When they open they’re more stripped down equipment wise so they may use a backing track for piano parts where they may play them live if they’re headlining.
    Anyways, they’ve stated publicly on several occasions that they write, compose and record their music in a way that allows them to recreate to the greatest extent possible their studio sound live onstage.
    That’s why a lot of their fans say they sound as good if not better live than they do on their studio recordings.
    It’s been stated that the audio for these released songs from this concert was taken from the sound engineers mixing board so the quality is exceptional.

It is actually a common talk of people seeing them live. Of course on these live videos they recorded it directly and mixed after. Great reaciton man.

    CDMX - Mexico City. Great venue. 3,561-seat theater with great acoustics. It helps this series of their concert vids that the audio is taken straight from the sound board. They use a click track and, at times, a backing track (for example, Alessia Cara's missing vocals on Enter Sandman), but their sound is live and legit. A wall of sound falls apart if the musicians aren't playing in synch, and as far apart as they are on stage, a click track is mandatory. Amazingly (to me), Pau sings, drums, and manages the click and backing tracks all at the same time. Dany often kicks in an effect that makes her playing sound like multiple guitars. You can hear her kick it out just a tad prematurely prior to the "swimming with the fishes" break. Add Pau's obliteration of the drums and Ale's impeccable connection with Pau and you have a wall of sound that'll knock you over live. I saw them a football field away and they almost knocked me out of my chair.

    "Half football crowd, half "Iron Maiden". Interesting way to put it (Steve Harris is a big soccer fan). Yes, as others have said, their sound really is that big. Three vocalists, a guitarist who uses every trick in the book to fatten the sound, a bassist who plays half rhythm guitar, and a drummer who contributes to the melodic line go a long way.

    Good to see you back so quickly and going deeper into this wonderful world.
    I´ve seen them live and the sound is indeed that powerful.
    They do use backing tracks. A second guitar, for sure. Now and then a piano. Very rarely vocals. The thing is, that if the whole system goes down, you would still get the full song. As they said during an interview: "Backing tracks are great for a song, as long as they do not become the song". Besides, they play every single note, even when recording in a studio. David Bendeth and his team were impressed by that.
    Keep on rocking!!!!

    Hey OB Dave! What yo will find with The Warning live is they completely hit with a HUGE wall of sound, from 3 girls! Dany is a master of her guitar effects and many times it will sound layered, but only one guitar. They do use a few backing tracks, but very sparingly and it's usually piano or synth, sometimes a rhythm guitar track that Dany prerecords to play under a guitar solo or lead, but not often. What has happened many times is that they will lose their backing and click tracks mid song and nobody will ever know until they say so after the show. What you hear here is what you hear live. They are really THAT good!
    They will be at Download Fest in UK if you can get there. You have to see them live to fully appreciate how amazing they are.

    If anyone has a doubt about what a three piece striped back band can do live, just take a listen to ZZ Top's album "Fandango". As far as I'm concerned they set the bench mark, three outstanding musicians , cranking it up, and playing their hearts out. The Warning is just following that recipe! The only difference, all three can sing, and the drummer writes nearly all of the lyrics for their songs, and sings while laying down some of the best drum lines ever.

    I’d love to see them live playing naked (no, not what you think). Naked as in no click track and no coordinated prerecorded tracks. It would give them the freedom to play their songs in the moment, responsive to the audience and, the freedom to jam it out if the opportunity presented itself. I saw Led Zeppelin many times from 69 to 73. I knew all the songs each was different in each performance and all were great and sometimes stretch out to 15 minutes or more with the most amazing jam. LZs album were great, LZs show were great and, each song was unique from every other live performance and the studio recording. I think The Warning has the chops to remove the training wheels and demonstrate the self confidence in their musicianship knowing that whatever they do in moment will be accepted and will be great.

    I think you're ready for the new professionally recorded video (like this) of "Animosity Live at Teatro Metropolitan CDMX".
    The Warning.
    There is too much talent, virtuosity, beauty, charisma, power, creativity, the desire to be, kindness, support, inspiration, synergy, etc.
    All of it in a small 3 piece pack (apparently only 3, because behind it there is a great family support ) which is very small...
    But with nuclear content!!
    And if this were a commodity, and it could be done,
    I would buy all the possible stock shares of the brand on the stock market.
    I would do the best business, with the greatest projection and that will give me the best dividends.
    It's a super safe bet!!
    TW have a huge list of songs of the best musical and artistic level, complete and rounded, both in their lyrics and in their instrumentation.
    In addition, they are 3 young women who are each one of the best as human beings and have the impetus to "devour" the world.
    You put this combination of pure talent and energy on stage and you get:
    The Warning
    An unmissable bet!!
    Your next reaction to TW should be "Animosity Alive Teatro Metropólitan CDMX" (new professional recording format).
    th-cam.com/video/K8VPX-diRl4/w-d-xo.html
    It's an original song like 40 others and more that they have created.
    And all with "TW" quality, which means: lirycs, instrumentation and performance with the highest quality exposure!!
    Cheers

    Ever listen to Rush...3 guys...big sound, 1 guitar...they just fatten the guitar sound. I mean tracking a backing guitar, that's bold. Perhaps some keyboards that can't be played live. It may seem hard in this day to believe someone can produce a huge sound live without being Motley Crue.
