Awesome! Just finished making a seat for my mini bike just like this. As you say HD foam is way to soft as mine is like a sofa😂 805ROADKING did a good job of explaining making seats! Btw awesome vid + channel :)
Do yall have any advice for torque converter rattle because my torque converter rattles everytime I tap the gas even though my bolts are all torqued down plz help
+Austin Davis hmm, it's hard to tell without hearing it. Are you sure it's coming from the torque-a-verter? One thing that comes to mind is it could be the clutch mechanism as it tries to engage, just like how a centrifugal clutch has that clanking noise too.
+St3v3n-Jrr The bolt heads are stripped out? That's odd since they're only threaded into plastic. Not to sound dumb but you have the right metric size socket?
The foam should be about an inch +/- or so (in each dimension)larger than what you are filling (vinyl cover) to make it firmer. You can also use different layers of foam. The easiest and most readily available is carpet padding, use the heaviest weight padding. Cut 3 or 4 layers the out line of the base plate then "glue" them together with heavy duty spray adhesive or contact cement then glue the piece of high density foam on top of the layered carpet padding. The layered carpet padding and foam "cushion" should be at least an inch taller than what you want the seat to be. The carpet padding layers should be put on the bottom where the plate is because it is firmer and the high density foam on top because it is softer. You compress the it into the vinyl. It makes it harder to put together and staple but a better, firmer seat. Also if the original foam is not falling apart you can "try to rejuvenate" by steaming it. If you have a steamer, it will bring the foam back to life. You could use it as is or add the carpet padding layering to the bottom. If the foam is too old and falling apart this will not work.
+MrCuckoobox Wow lots of good info! Thank you very much, I like the idea of being able to use carpet padding. We really appreciate a detailed write up like this.
The struggle is real! awesome channel, fellas
+Nestophallies Thanks for the support!
Nice work! Looks good!
I'm jealous because I never had a mini bike especially with a soft cushioned seat, the ones that sink in
If I was close by to be your friend would you let me ride your doodle bike eith the new comfortable seat?

How thick is the foam that you used?
Even if I had that Doodle mini bike, I would love that new seat that sinks in, I would even fart on it while riding LOL!
Cut the cheese!
i have the same bike but i think the bolts to take the seat off are stripped. How would i get the seat off?

yes it turns the bolt but the bolt doesnt come out. I have tried to pull the bolt out with pliers but still no luck
there actually hex key bolts there not stripped but when i turn them they do not come off
