I met Paul in 1974 in Oakland, CA. I last saw him in person in January 2023 when the Blind Boys had a concert in Escondido. We were supposed to get together after the concert, but he wasn't feeling well after the concert, so I didn't impose on him. He sounded fantastic while he was singing though. He had been having complications from diabetes for years, and it had cost him his sight. He will be missed.
Yes I really enjoy history of Mr . Paul Beasley he was really down to earth I meet Brother Paul I sang with a local Quartet from VA.thenI had a local radio show in VA call The Hampton Roads Legendary Quartets Interview Mr Paul 1350Wgpl from Va gone but not forgotten sleep on my brother walk around😊 heaven
I watched this presentation for the second time and picked up a couple of things I overlooked in the first viewing. I would ask where you got the info that Paul's net worth was $15 million? We had a saying in quartet, "You rarely get rich singing quartet music." Paul always said he lived comfortably but that he wasn't rich. The other error I noticed and no disrespect intended but Paul did not sing the lead on Show me the Way. Willie Neal Johnson did. Paul was an amazing songwriter and any wealth he may have accumulated may have come from writing and copyright royalties. Rest in Heaven, my friend.
@@diondrakesims2830 I never said $15 million. That was the person who posted this. Paul wasn't broke because he would have received royalties from his songs with the clouds and keynotes. He was also songwriter so he would get royalties from writing credits as well. I doubt his net worth was anywhere near $15 million though. I may figure out how to pose that question to his sister.
