My C74 esc burned up the first time I ran mine. I replaced the esc with an FMS esc and its very nice now.

      I'd love to say I'm surprised 🙄
I'm glad you've got it running better, though.

Hi there, I have been following your updates on the WPL C74. I like to check what other upgrades can be make to the Jimny and have some inspiration to change mine. I don't know if you already saw it, the second C74 batch has some changes that were announced on their Facebook page, namely harder spring leafs:
"The axles are now flipped to reduce the drive shaft angle to remedy the drive shaft/axle juddering issue. Some other changes,
    a. Steering rate will now be high rate mode as soon as you turned on the C74
    b. Throttle rate button now toggles 2 drive modes. Mode 1 : Forward, Brake, Reverse, Mode 2 : Turn on Drag Brake and Reverse as soon as you push the throttle trigger
    c. increased stall amp
    d. harder leaf spring
    e. increased steering rack length to reduce front wheels hitting chassis while turning.
Above updates are implemented in both the White and Bay Blue version in the latest batch released on the 21st."

Thanks for the info. I hadn't seen that.
I'm not sure of how the axle 'fix' of flipping the axles will work. I played around with the idea but found that I'd have to flip front and rear and then the angle on the front would be even worse and it doesn't actually deal with the out of phase drive shafts anyway.
Good that they're addressing the crazy dual rate issue in the steering.
The use of the throttle rate button sounds sensible.
Not sure what the steering rack issue or fix are about, to be honest. 🤷🏼 Especially as they don't actually have a steering rack!

And I wanted softer leaf springs, not harder ones.. unless they are about to collapse. 😬

If you go on small scale adventures page he bent the pins upwards to clear the chassis

I considered doing that but it would invalidate the warranty, so I decided against it; especially after what happened with the original ESC.

Can you get a mnd90 update series

I've not revisited my MN99 for quite some time. It's currently sat in a box in bits. If I find the time, I'll try to do something with it and get some more videos out.
I guess you've seen my earlier MN99 videos. Have you?

Switch is for the winch but should be spring loaded as it shouldn’t latch in just sprung

Yeah, I figured what it was for and mangroves it again at the end of the video. Cheers, though! 👍🏻

Greetings from Chile. My c74 ESC also burned up the first time I used it (and this was yesterday). A question: Is the installation of Res-v3 complicated? Is anything necessary to modify? Thank you very much and greetings.

      Greetings to you and Chile!
It's not really complicated, no. The only difficulty is that it doesn't fit properly. You could bend the pins but then the warranty would be void.

Does the res v3 give you drag brake??

    • @rcpie
      @rcpie  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

You know, I've been thinking about this and I've got a thought that I need to check.
Res v3 is supposed to give drag brake in low gear and none in high. If you're running a single-speed, then maybe you can just pretend to change great to switch it on and off. I'll have to get the Jimny out and check this idea.
