    I had no idea!!! Thank you for having the strength to post this. ❤ I'm 62 years old and never heard this. I did yoga years ago. I loved it. I felt better than any time in my adult life physically. Thanks to you sending out this knowledge I will never do it again. God 🙏 forgive me. I never intended to worship a foreign God.

    Agreed 100%. I've only done yoga 3 times and I never felt right About it. I just found out about 2 months ago the origin of it. I'm upset I didn't know this sooner. I'll never do it again! Your dad is a good dad for having you sit out of it

    I am a Hindu. I love Jesus and Allah and have other 330 million Gods to pray and love.
    Now let me come to this topic.
    As far as I know, Yoga is just an exercise. Like any exercise, it will bring flexibility to your body and relaxes you.
    If you don't enjoy doing Yoga, don't do it. Do something that you enjoy.
    I am not able to most Yoga poses now since I had a few accidents and had to undergo some surgeries. But I enjoy walking.
    Yoga has nothing to do with any religion.. India have diverse religions. There are Jains, Christians , Muslims, Jews, Parsis, Hindus in India from a long time. They all have contributed to the Indian culture.
    Please don't be intolerant. Christ never wanted to diss other religions. It doesn't matter to which God you pray, or even if you don't pray and be an Atheist. Just spread love and not hate.

    • @maggierose7689
      @maggierose7689  ปีที่แล้ว

      I actually does matter what God you pray to if you want to get into heaven. The Bible says there is only one way to the father and that is through the Son. But all that aside, as far as the yoga issue goes, I disagree. I’ve done my research and as far as I can see there is elements to religion in it (receipts in the video). Agree with me or not, this is what I believe to be true based on the facts I’ve read.

    You made some really good points, thank you for taking time to share this. I have been doing yoga for a few years now and I have always felt something not right. I also felt I wanted to teach but kept debating as something didn’t sit well with me no matter how good it felt doing it. Also It doesn’t help that most Christians and Church of England vicars and congregation that I heard say it’s fine and it’s just stretching. I also notched that doctors recommended yoga and mindfulness for anxiety and other symptoms/issues this is quite concerning. I pray god forgives me and all that stray down the wrong path. May he bless you and all those who receive a valuable message from this video.🙏🏽😊

    I used to be so in love with yoga as an exercise and centering practice that I wanted to become a teacher! But roadblocks starting popping up, preventing me from being able to study it. After learning more about it on my own, I now think that was God protecting me. I was disappointed as I loved the practice, but I find I no longer even have that desire to practice it anymore and have moved on to discovering other forms of exercise and meditation that have been even more beneficial for me than yoga was!

    I see this is an old video and you probably won't read this, but I would like to say, ' Thank you'. I recently shared this info with a group of people I did yoga with. It's a group of Christians, a few pastors. Was immediately shut down. They emphasized that we were doing nothing wrong because everything is Christ centered. The main problem is people think they can go around christianizing things that are clearly paganism. Many of us need to wake up, because the enemy is deceiving many Your boldness is well appreciated.

    I just stumbled upon this video after watching your epidural vs natural birth video (I’m expecting my second one in July so watching everything birth of course on TH-cam lol). So awesome to see other followers of Christ speaking up about yoga. I used to be deep into new age doctrine myself before coming to Christ a few years ago and yoga was one of the last things I really had to shed/educate myself/pray to the Lord about. And that book is seriously awesome! More Christians and non-Christians alike need to be reading the origins of where things come from in general. Yoga is definitely something we overlook in its origins in our western culture-Christians and non-Christians alike. God bless you!

    I wish barre, especially the slow/balance/mindful orientated barre classes, were more popular! I found it to be an amazing alternative, but kind of difficult to find classes for in some cases... a lot of barre studios play loud music and are too fast for me. But still one of my most favorite alternatives! It is kind of like pilates but I enjoy barre more.

      The church of Christ should learn from you. God has called us to be holy (separated) from satan's world. The Lord Jesus wants us to live a new life and not call ourselves Christian and do the same old pagan things we did before being converted. I applaud you and send you blessings. We have a greater reward when we are persecuted as his word says. We have as an example the Jews in the Bible who were taken from Egypt(paganism, idolatry, and other sinful practices) to the new land he had for them but he wanted Israel to remove all the nations before they moved in which did not happen and he warned them not to do their practices in Deuteronomy 12 and other verses like it. In the end, Israel became like the pagan nations that lived with them and likewise, we Christians are doing the same.

    What's more upsetting is half the workouts and "stretches" that people do, are yoga poses and I'm trying to get in shape but I don't want to mimick yoga poses and that means I have to avoid half the of workouts and stretches that I used to do and what's interesting is those workouts are the most affective. it's so hard to find good affective workouts that are not yoga poses. @Trinity M I don’t know if you know this but yoga goes against Christian beliefs and the other Abrahamic religions also (Some people may tell you that’s not true but their holy text says otherwise) It’s just that those are starting to adapt and make those belief their own for example: the new age movement and many are falling for this movement including people from abrahamic religions. It’s ironic you say we are picking and choosing what beliefs we want to take from other religions but there is a whole movement that is stealing from other religions and claim it as an original thing and I don’t see anyone talking about that. But when we Christians want to reject something that goes against our beliefs we’re all of the sudden we are hateful. At least we’re not stealing it making it our own (at least the people who are serious about Christianity of course). If you want to do yoga then do it no one is stopping you, you have a right to but for some people we can’t because I goes against their religious beliefs. And It’s not what our God us taught or told us to do so we don’t practice it. Just like Muslim can’t eat pork or like Jewish people can only eat kosher foods but us Christian’s can. And I’m sure their are things that Christian’s do that some eastern religions cannot participate in. This video is about Christian’s that are forgetting yoga isn’t just practice it is a practice that is part of eastern religions that teach very different things and practice different things from Christianity. And I’ll make this clear again if YOU what to practice yoga you can and it’s your right to.

    Interesting how yoga means "to be yoked" while Jesus Christ said in Matthew 11:29 (KJV), "Take my yoke upon you and learn of me"... Jesus Christ promised to return, therefore following "bramin" is misleading to The way, the truth and the light which is Jesus Christ.

    Mmmmmmm thank you. You clarified this yoga thing properly. Can anyone suggest any stretches that aren't yoga?

    • @theRockSalter
      @theRockSalter 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      you can do any stretches--yoga does not own them. They are simply gymnastic and athletic moves put into modern day yoga. The ancient yoga "bible" or sutras only mention 3 postures (all seated) for the purpose to to prepare the mind for meditation.

    • @trollarasan
      @trollarasan ปีที่แล้ว

      @@theRockSalter wrong they are Hindu dances and exercises put into yoga and practiced for thousands of years before composing the different practices into one that's why yoga details the benefits of each pose completely just like how gospels were composed to one. all of which predate gymnastics. Even to claim Europe's sudden exercise craze is the reason for yoga is outright ridiculous.

    • @theRockSalter
      @theRockSalter ปีที่แล้ว

      @@trollarasan no, if you read the sutra (the yoga bible) you will see there is only 5 postures given and they are all seated postures for the purpose of going deeper into meditation. The other poses came 200 years later with their roots in gymnastics and military exercises for the western interests who took the limb of asana postures and glamorize the physical component of the practice. Fact. Cheers

    • @trollarasan
      @trollarasan ปีที่แล้ว

      @@theRockSalter
      I have read, did you? First of all none of the Yoga Sutras mentions a posture, however, we do find postures in the bhashyas commentaries to the Sutras, and these postures are 12 not 5 [1]: Lotus (Padmasana), hero (Virasana), good fortune (Bhadrasana), lucky mark (Svastikasana), stick (Dandasana), supported (Sopasraya), couch (Paryanka), seated crane (Krauncanidasanam), seated elephant (Hastinidasana), seated camel (Ustranidasana), symmetrical (Samasamsthana), steadily serene (Sthitaprasrabdhi) and it adds “whatever is comfortable” (Yathasukham).
      Now, an Asana in the Yoga Sutras is a essentially a support for breathing and meditation techniques. so we need to go and look in the early Hatha Yoga texts to find the roots of these styles. And for a moment we need to forget the work of Patanjali.
      Ca. in the tenth century, we can find the first Asana that is not performed sitting, Mayurasana the peacock pose in the Vinamarcanakalpa. And later the Vasishta Samita adds another complex Asana, Kukkutasana the cock pose.
      These cannot be labeled as Hatha Yoga texts, because the word Hatha Yoga does not appear at all. However, the Yoga techniques in these texts came to characterize Haṭhayoga after they were incorporated into the Haṭhapradīpikā .
      So yoga developed continuously without any western input for thousands of years and the west didn't have any systematic practices like yoga.
      These are the facts of yoga.
      also, it is outright ridiculous to say that India with hundreds of dance forms and martial arts didn't influence yoga but yoga was only influenced by non-existent western practices.
      also when the brits came to India they didn't have any systematic and well-developed exercises. This outright lies to shamelessly lay claim to yoga. Next, in fact, the brits even banned many martial arts in India as barbaric. Yet you think they are the ones who gave yoga.
      Krishnamacharya who introduced hatha yoga nowhere claimed he was influenced by the brits or some so-called danish exercises which popped out of nowhere.
      If you have any shame left you wouldn't make such claims.
      if you have a proof for your claims please present it.

  • @danielguevara9234

    here is a simple answer the Bible gives us...Jeremiah 10:1-2 1 Hear ye the word of the Lord that he speaketh unto you, O house of Israel. Thus saith the Lord, Learn not the way of the heathen....and also in Deuteronomy 12:30-32. God is a jealous God, he wants us to live holy lives and not learn from satan's world and its practices but from God and his kingdom, remember we are sojourners on this earth. If you need a way to de-stress and have peace I suggest reading the word, meditating on it, and doing what it says. If you have no peace that means there is sin in your life and you are not right with God. If you are doing it because a friend is dragging you to it then invite her to church instead so he or she can find true peace that can only be found through Jesus, our savior.

    Thank you so much for sharing this! I've been battling with transitioning out of doing yoga for about a month now. I dreamt that I needed to stop doing yoga about a month ago, so I just stopped out of respect for God. It started off as something I wanted to do because it seemed like a cool thing to do as I worked on being more disciplined on my fitness journey and felt good for my body after doing HIIT workouts 5x a week. I ended up really enjoying doing yoga. I wanted to dive deeper into the practice and possibly become a yoga instructor, but I didn't like the non-Christian part of it. I never felt comfortable doing the chants and all that comes with it. So, I tried to find some Christian yoga videos or Christian Yogi's on socials that I could identify with and I didn't find one! I felt lead to do research on yoga because something about doing it still didn't feel right, and I found a lot of the information you presented in the video. My biggest fear as a believer is getting sucked into something seemingly harmless that ends up causing me to stray away from God. I mean-those doctors are welcome to watch my video haha. I am not here giving any sort of medical advice. Just a girl giving her 2 cents about what she personally believes a professing Christian should be cautious about. Take it as you will.

    i don't get it. yoga originated from india and Christian , jews, muslim adding their own name on it and calling it something else. Just use word "yoga". there is no such thing as muslim yoga or Christian yoga. just say yoga. practice any version of it but at least acknowledge where it from. Yoga nothing to do with being with god. It is just about stopping body from moving so you can concentrate. same with meditation. You don't have to say OM while doing it.

      Not everyone will “get” my point of view and that’s okay. We are all entitled to our own opinions. I made this video simply to express my particular opinion on this somewhat divisive topic among Christians in today’s culture.
