On the 20th of October 2019 me and my wife had a very busy day as we enjoyed several sights as part of "le vie dei tesori" festival around Palermo.
Once we completed all the sightseeing a couple of friends invited us to go with them to the olive oil mill as they were going to get their harvest of olives turned into oil.
I was exhausted since we had left home at 7am but my wife insisted as we had never visited an olive oil mill and so we decided to go.
The oil mill was located near Caccamo and we arrived around 8pm after almost 1.5h drive from Palermo.
We were shocked by the efficiency of this oil mill as it was fully mechanised.
The smell of fresh oil was extremely intense and irresistible.
We spent about half an hour at the mill and eventually split from our friends to take a stroll in the town of Caccamo.
This was the first time I had ever come to this place.
It was very windy and I didn't have my jacket (when I left home early in the morning I couldn't think I was going to stay out until night time) but we couldn't resist the charm of Caccamo.
We walked through the little streets surrunding the norman castle and a few churces and ejoyed the experience of such quiet, almost desert, environment; although it wasn't even 9pm.
We eventually rejoined our friends and we had a delicious dinner at the A' Ficurinnia restaurant.
After dinner, on the way back to Palermo, we stopped by Caccamo again so I could take a quick flight with my drone to capture the enchanting amber lights of Caccamo.
I couldn't imagine, right then, I would have visited Caccamo again just three days later.
On the 23rd of October, indeed, we woke up around 5am in order to reach Caccamo by 7am to help our friends with another round of olives harvesting.
This gave me the chance to take another flight with my drone to capture Caccamo in daylight as the sun was still raising from behind the mountains.
