That's an interesting way of doing it, Rey. Here where I live, some locations would even include a little bit of spine for them shoulders! And the Y we usually do it AP...👌🏼
Love the energy bro!! I'm a final year radiography student from UK. Be cool if you could do x-ray positioning videos relating to adaptive technique e.g. when the patients is in a bed/trolley and is unable to move independently; resulting in us having to position the tube/detector around them.
These are the best I've seen, positions, radiograph & anatomy, and how to fix the position. Thank you so much! I look forward to more of your positioning videos.
Literally best videos out here for projections! Thank you so much for the work you put in to making these! I graduate my program in 6months and COVID really set us back! So grateful for these!!!
I can go over that in a future video on trauma shoulders. In the meantime, just use this video and flip the patient. The positioning and radiographic criteria and how you fix your repeat will be identical, just the AOI and "pivot point" will be the shoulder further away from the bucky
I just graduated and started my new job, and the Y is the bane of my existence. I love this video it helped a lot and I love your energy, you've gain a new subscriber!!
Great video. I've been a tech for about 6 years now and wondered when someone would highlight us on TH-cam. Our students struggle with C-ARM and surgery cases the most, I've been thinking about doing some videos in the OR but I'm camera shy....could you do a mock surgery case?
Just messaged my OR tech about it. I definitely feel their pain as i did too. Just because i didn’t have enough experience. My facility had me mainly on the floor. I’ll let you know ASAP! Thank you for the suggestion. Will give you a s/o ✊🏽
Thanks I’m glad I found your channel I will share your channel with my classmates! This is my first time seeing the y view poisoning from a PA view. I’m in my 2nd year getting ready to start our spring semester ❤
love your channel, thank you! I work in an Orthopedic office and the shoulder series they want here is the Grashey in neutral and external rotation, outlet y-view, and SI axial. If you did a video covering those that'd be amazing. i am always looking to improve my skills.
Those are some detailed views! I don’t do them routinely but done when ordered rarely. I’m currently working on other videos, but if you’d like to hop on a zoom call email me!
I LOVE your channel! I wish that I had this when I was a student. You are doing a GREAT job, providing an incredibly valuable service! Your technical instruction is awesome, and the inspiration you give to the world is so invaluable. THANK YOU! Looking forward to seeing much more from you.
Nice video, doing the whole exam then going back and showing your thought process was a good way of laying out the vid, very helpful! I’m a first year student. Keep it up! 😊
Hey Rey! I’m a 2nd year student and my clinical sites protocols are very different, which I know every hospital or outpatient center is different but it’s interesting seeing something new! We do a normal AP internal rotation, then we do an oblique view or grashey with a external rotation. Then we do our Y-view AP instead of PA but I honestly think the PA is easier.
I haven't reached clinicals yet but does your tube move when you move the bucky? all on it's own? We have an old school type of tube and bucky in lab and we have to move each separately.
Just wondering why the IR orientation is done portrait. Should it be crosswise for internal, external rotation and grashey to catch the sc joints and soft tissues of the arm?
Great video!! I wanted to ask if you have done an axillary for the shoulder?? Or a velpeau? I get a lot of humeral head fx and the DR asks for a velpeau. If you have any tips? I’ve tried modified velpeau but my image is blurry.
Amazing videos!! The most helpful videos I’ve seen. I just got a job as a CT student that will also be doing x-ray at a well ranked institution in my state. I haven’t done x-tables in over 10 years as I’ve only worked in a clinical setting. I’ve been feeling anxious to say the least. I have to look through your vids to see if you have a x-table hip. Can you go over well known portable trauma views like C-spine?
Lmk how it goes! I’m interested on how well it will help students. I knew I was pretty intimidated. It didn’t take me 2nd year to finally grasp the concept of the Y. GL!
had shoulder x ray today(both shoulders are frozen due to mva) technologist manner does seem to make a difference. The guy who attended me was bossy and unsympathetic.has some questions about shielding but responded in annoyed manner. Is there a chance that due to annoyance that he might exposed me to higher radiation dosage by increasing MaS and ms excessively?is this a possibility, not saying he did it but no idea how much radiation can one get from it when used carelessly.
unfortunately we are all human and this can happen. Not giving the tech an excuse, but you can say this for any other profession. To answer your question, there is a chance, but highly unlikely for a shoulder exam. I wouldn't worry about it at all. I recommend you calling and filing a complaint, however.
Communication is key. Moving an injured patient siring words and not hands is a challenge we’ve all faced. From the looks of the X-ray taken, the way you’re moving him is just hurting him more.
Tbh it’s hard for me to say lol I just turned 30. But I do know that there are elder students in the program. I’d say if your heart is in it. You have a passion for it. You can do it!
Thinking about quitting IT to pursue this. I got all my prereqs done so it would just be rad tech classes left to take. Cool videos, also always great to see a fellow Pinoy on TH-cam.

I have C, T, L-spine, chest, and knee recorded. Just need to edit them. Happy positioning!

Friend do you know any immobilization device use in x ray,CT,MRI during processing of different body parts ?
These are the best I've seen, positions, radiograph & anatomy, and how to fix the position. Thank you so much! I look forward to more of your positioning videos.
Glad it was helpful! thank you so much for sharing

I appreciate you! And I’m grateful i can help
You must have graduated already, congrats!
Hey Rey, can you make a video with an easy way to get the y-view on an AP projection. Most hospitals perform the AP scapular y instead of the PA
I can go over that in a future video on trauma shoulders. In the meantime, just use this video and flip the patient. The positioning and radiographic criteria and how you fix your repeat will be identical, just the AOI and "pivot point" will be the shoulder further away from the bucky
I recommend checking out Wikiradiography "Lateral Scapula Radiography" helped me a lot
Michelle Ferd thank you!

wow thank you for that lil pep talk at the end. x-ray student here and shoulder-Y got me doubting myself big time

We are on upper extremities shoulder, elbow, humerus, and forearm. Very helpful video! Thanks Rey 🙌🏾
No problem!!
Just stumbled through this channel but definitely something I needed to hear. Thank you so much!
sir, could you please tell me the name of those immobilization devices use in x ray,CT,MRI during processing of different body parts ?
yes i can
Bro thank u !! So beneficial and ur so underrated, I'm so glad u are making these

Hey Ray, I used to work with you in Sonora. I looked up a Y-view and your's was right on the money
Do you have any videos for Portable AP Y positioning?
not as of yet, it's almost impossible to borrow the portable in times like these
I LOVE your channel! I wish that I had this when I was a student. You are doing a GREAT job, providing an incredibly valuable service! Your technical instruction is awesome, and the inspiration you give to the world is so invaluable. THANK YOU! Looking forward to seeing much more from you.
Most helpful video I’ve found yet. Thanks so much
love the motivational bits at the end
thank you that you're vlogging this kind of job. its a big help to me or us that going to take this rad tech course this coming school year.
You make these look so easy
I once struggled. Product of learning from my mistakes and an abundant of repetition
Just started my rad tech career, its been overwhelming. But thanks for these vids so helpful!
Welcome to the family!
Nice video, doing the whole exam then going back and showing your thought process was a good way of laying out the vid, very helpful! I’m a first year student. Keep it up! 😊
I’m so glad I came across this video ! My classmates and I needed more practice outside of lab for shoulder ! Thank you !
What’s the centring point for the PA shoulder
can you do a video on the grashey i suck at those
Is that the y view the 3rd image?
Where do you get you markers from? Or are thy giving to you?

Can you do an AP projection Y?
Can you do a video for axillary view and modified axillary view pls
noted! will do a part 2 with grashey
My son is 22 years old what advice can you give him if he wanted to start
This was awesome! Thanks so much! Hope you do more!
Just wondering why the IR orientation is done portrait. Should it be crosswise for internal, external rotation and grashey to catch the sc joints and soft tissues of the arm?
For most places, yes. I failed to mention that my facility doesn’t need the whole clavicle
Great video really helpful, could you do one showing axial shoulder & modified axial's?
Something I really needed to hear! Thank you so much :)
Glad it was helpful!
I struggle with ap oblique of the shoulder
hows the program going
Great video!! I wanted to ask if you have done an axillary for the shoulder?? Or a velpeau? I get a lot of humeral head fx and the DR asks for a velpeau. If you have any tips? I’ve tried modified velpeau but my image is blurry.
I’ve done an axillary when ordered by the DR but never a velpeau. Would a trans thoracic not be ok?
X-ray Rey unfortunately no, he’s a specialist. I believe it’s an OID problem... maybe 🤔 anyway love your videos!
I would love for you to talk about how to fix a grainy image. Example for lumbar spine was 75 Kvp and mAs 30
Hi Rey
Could you please make a video about shoot through view of shoulder
I'm not sure if I understand your request. Grashey?
@@XRAYREY Thank you ☺️ i also checked with other radiographer
Got the answer that typically the transthoracic view is the shoot through for shoulder
Thank you so much for this

Sooooo helpful!!!! Thanks
You're so welcome!
you are a life saver. thanks

Would you have really repeated both of those shoulders?
this is dope. thanks for this

Thank you!!🦋💜
You’re very welcome!
That’s internal rotation and external rotation is t it
Good shit!
AP shoulder should include the sternoclavicilar joint medially. Your projection did not.
Analyse and present Austrians Medical Radiologist Technology or society code of practis or ethics???
Nice video ....
Ty!
Can you do a positioning video on ribs? Please😭
ribs and skull work on top of the list!
Hi there, question 😊. What do you think about starting this career at 52 years of age? I’m a young 52 years though, lol 😝
Tbh it’s hard for me to say lol I just turned 30. But I do know that there are elder students in the program. I’d say if your heart is in it. You have a passion for it. You can do it!

That seems like a common job to transition from for whatever reason lol I’ve heard several people do that. All been successful tho 👍🏽 Salamat po! 🇵🇭
Handsome & I’m learning . A win is a winnnnn yall lolll jk but seriously
Heyy ... I'm 2nd year student from India ... We also operate CT and MR machines.. You to?
Hey there! Yes we do
@@XRAYREY You have your MR license?
I like to touch my patient haha and speak all at the same time O.o

Are you needlessly exposing your co-worker?
Lol never once exposed him
