Mor Bani Thanghat Kare originally titled Navi Varsha is a 1944 Gujarati song translated by poet Jhaverchand Meghani which was published in his anthology Ravindra-Veena (1944). It was later composed by Hemu Gadhvi. The song is a loosely translated version of "Navavarsha" (lit. New Rain) by Rabindranath Tagore. Meghani had heard the song from Tagore himself in 1920 at his home in Calcutta. He wrote the Gujarati version in 1944 after the death of Tagore in 1941

I have known this song written by Zaverchand Meghani , before it appeared in Ram Leela movie in 2014. But, the way it is composed and sang , OMG, it has taken this song to the sky level. Perfectly captured the music, beats, voice ( by both Osman Mir and Aditi Paul ) , in all essence of Gujarat.

[Here, Shyamal is used in dual meaning. Shayamal is dark. The clouds all around are dark too. At the same time, the joy makes the poet feel that God has blessed him and the world and so he says that Lord Krishna, who is also called Shyam/Shayamal for his dark complexion, has embraced the world.
This style of using one word for two meanings together is called 'Shlesh' in Hindi/Sanskrit and has been a common way of many Indian poets in earlier times. Recently, a similar thing, known as Yamak, was used in the song Banarasiya of Raanjhanaa by Irshad Kamil.]
