Thanks for another charming and informative episode, Cathy! I especially enjoyed the bookshops - naturally - and the Anne of Green Gables merch was hilarious.
I loved watching and listening to your unique trip. We have a Book barn on our footpath with books to share with the community. Crammed shelves show dedicated and passionate readers, sellers . Thanks for showcasing the bookshops. I bet you purchased a goody bag.
Thank you so much! 'Book barn' is a nice term for a street library - I'll remember that. Believe me, I would have purchased a goody bag if we'd had more luggage space, but over teh years I've kept bringing one or two books from Schooner's every visit, and now I have a small but precious set of 19th and 18th century books ...
Ohhh I would’ve bought too many books! Our op shops used to have old books. Not anymore, what a joy. It’s so cool turning pages and finding another persons notes and thoughts pencilled in the margins 😃
Yes, the slow disappearance of books from op shops is a very ominous sign - in another episode I mentioned the GREAT op shop near us where the books are SO cheap ($2, mostly) abd it's still very popular. Because there's still a market out there!
You’re back! What a treat to take us on a tour around that part of Canada. Would love to spend some days in those bookshops.
They're fabulous bookshops! We'll have to catch up ...

Thank YOU, Alison! I can't help being jealous, to be honest - if only any of MY books had lobster-flavoured gummies named after them.
