  • This week's video its 30 minutes of UNPACKIGN MOTIVATION. We are finally in our new FOREVER home and now the work begins. We have to get as much unpacked as we can so we can get back to a semi-normal life. My goal is the get the kitchen and my daughters spaces unpacked first so she can feel settled and I can cook meals. In this video the kitchen is pretty much done and so is her playroom so I make really good progress. If you are moving and packing or unpacking, come along and do it with me. Put this video on your playlist and let it motivate you to keep going! Enjoy!

How did you guys know you were ready to move ? Having trouble knowing it's the right move for me and my family.

It took my husband 15 year to convince me to move south :) To be honest, I don't know if I was ever going to be truly ready for a move like this because it was such a big change. You just have to make a decision and see what happens....Good luck!

So we are moving from New York to Tennessee in a few weeks and was thinking about using pods. What did you think of them also I have a toddler what did you do about her crib because I would need something for that night for her to sleep in. we are flying there because 15 hours is a long trip just wondering what you did!

I think that you get what you pay for when it comes to using PODS or a Pod-type moving system. We got quotes from full service movers (which would have made out life so much easier) for over $25k which we couldn't afford. With PODS, we spent around $7k but it was a ton of work, lots of coordinating, and a bunch of frustration. As long as you mentally prepare for that, you'll be fine. As for the sleeping arrangements, since we drove, we packed a blow-up mattress and the pack-n-play with us in the truck so we had something to sleep on when we got down here. You will need to plan to be without the PODS for several days, possibly up to a week or more depending on scheduling. Since you are flying, you will definitely beat the PODS down there so you should have a plan B for sleeping arrangements. We also had a mix-up on our re-deliveries and the PODS did not come to us in GA in the original order we thought they would so I would also plan to pack some other items such as toys/activities for my daughter, enough clothes and toiletries and anything you might need for a minimum of 2 weeks. Good luck!

@@WittyHarperDIY I was behind a car yesterday. Was a Remax car with the ladys name and email address on it. Oh and her face pic. Passed her and sure enough it was her driving. I thought it was a little desparate and dangerous. your thoughts?
