What do you do if the chimes are not lined up with 12 or 6? Say at 2 and 8?

Any idea what makes the strike go out of sync when the movement is kept continuously wound and running? My Ansonia movement regularly switches from striking correctly on the hour to striking hours on the half hour. Pretty much weekly.
