    I've had several boats but recently purchased a new skeeter. Yamaha owns the boat and motor. Everything is setup perfectly from factory. I really like the fact it's all one company and setup right from the start.

    Yeah, Aaron is awesome. Honest true real person. Not fake. I was just a marshal at an elite event. And one of the anglers told me when I asked him if he liked the rids he was using? He said no but they sponsor me so I use them. I was shocked but appreciated his honesty. But then gets on stage and says how great the rods are. I don't like that fake stuff. Not cool. Aaron is real straight up.

    The 2021 Mercury 250 V-8 the first thing to do after getting it home.. Side grinder with a flapper disk, that fin around the front side of your lower unit, grind it off… Evenly and smooth all the way around the front side.. Completely remove it.. Absolutely doesn’t effect anything… gain 2 mph quick and safely… This fin is only there to create lift for the motor.. Your steady trying to lift the bow to gain speed and this fins try to lift the a** at the same time… Leaned this tip from well known boat racer along with a few more non costly tips and tricks…My Phoenix 920 ProXP 2014 model with a Mercury 2021 V-8 with 5 lead agm blue top 31 series along with 200 lbs of tackle and gear at least.. Full live wells and 3/4 tank of fuel.. 🤔 Maybe 35,40 gallons and co-angler with gear..
    Not flashed either like 75% of the guys on tour with me,Toyota Series… True number with a Fury24p/71mph. Fury25p/72.5mph Fury4 23p/73mph Fury4 14.5x26p/ slow hole shot naturally but 73mph Solas15 1/8X26p 3 blade with drilled 1/4inch ports.. (which in a Fury would be a 25p because there one pitch less then actual) 74.5mph.. Keep in mind I’m talking LOADED down.. That’s a honest number.. 95% of boat owners for some reason are gona lie EVERY TIME about their boat speed for some reason 🤷‍♂️…. I hear guys on tour talking about their Phoenix or whatever (besides the couple billets and couple allisons) saying their running 77 and 78mph
    and at blast off I pass EVERY single boat I come too, literally.. Never been passed with just the numbers I’ve stated.. NEVER.. The new Blazer (tournament loaded) I pass like it’s got a block tie out the back.. Every times, not some time

    Disqualified for fiberglass reeds? That's insane. I think if the serial number on the block = boat HP rating, they should let it run!!

    Why don't bass boats have stepped hulls for speed?

    • @bassresource
      @bassresource  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      "Strakes" as they're called, on bass boats are mostly for handling and spray control. They offer slight improvements in lift and ergo, speed, but it's almost immeasurable at best. V-Hull boats get the most speed benefits of strakes, but most bass boats are not v-hulls.

    • @toddbrackett4277
      @toddbrackett4277 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@bassresource I think that we are talking about different features. Strakes run the length of the hull. Steps run at a slightly swept back angle perpendicular to the direction of travel and serve to break up surface tension along the wetted surface in order to reduce friction.

    • @toddbrackett4277
      @toddbrackett4277 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@toddspindler6190 actually I don't think that I did answer my question. I'm actually curious why steps aren't used. Perhaps steps would make a shallow V unstable.
