Yet another first class review, I bought the SPTA cordless polisher and I was so impressed bought off ebay £150 new with various head sizes and pads just a brilliant package for a at home polisher like myself, I think a great review would be to go through what you think are the best budget polishers because their are some many people who love you channel but cant justify £350.00 for a second small polisher so I would love to see you do what you think represents value lower down in the market given the current economic climate, I good example is the SPTA mini I have and I also bought the Ryobi cordless so for the both its cost £245.00 but would love your opinion of polishers like this, granted I have Ryobi tools so only needed to buy the unit without the battery. Keep up the brilliant work, been with you for over 5 years and its been a pleasure to watch you grow and develop buddy so keep up the fantastic work you do.
Well done Jon. I have a 5” and 3” Rupes and I believe them to be the leaders of the polisher industry. My wish list of tools to purchase is a long neck iBrid but I can’t justify the cost, especially as an enthusiast. The kit lists for about $800 Cdn (average) it is just out of my range. Great video though. Time will tell if the new design catches on and on another note, the matching polish and pad system, in my opinion, is awesome. Till the next one.👍🏻🇨🇦
Looks like a nice bit of kit, I’ve been using the lhr75 for nearly 2 years now and it’s very good on small areas and especially on headlights it’s amazing
oh man Jon...used the HLR75 for the first time over the weekend...was alllll worried about the trigger but surprisingly I had 0 issues with it. The one thing that's breaking my heart that I would've never associated Rupes with - the vibration

I will 1000% purchase the corded version that gets sold with the batteries and chargers. Don’t need pads or polishes but when you polish as much as I do it’s so important to have ergonomics at the front of your mind haha
Was quite skeptical about this tool but my 3inch polisher died and bought the standard kit for £340. It’s a very powerful machine and the motor has a good amount of torque, you can feel this when you put some pressure onto the pad. It was awkward to use as first but if you treat it like a palm sand you get used to it very quick. The only real issue I have found is the lever on the top should have been lockable and also it’s not even a progressive trigger. It’s either on or off and nothing like the bigger brothers which is a let down.
At the moment I'm on the In 2 Detailing DA Polisher with the flex pads I have to say I'm enjoying it and I love the results from using it on both of my cars I'd really would love to upgrade to the Rupes systerm.
That's a rather new shape :) Seems more ergonomical, but most likely adds to the complexity of the internals, thus more chances of something brakes down. We'll see on the longer run I suppose. Thanks for the review Jon.

Love RUPES kit, my go to gear, not cheap but then again the best rarely is. Have you got any RUPES UNO advanced in yet? Mine arrived couple of weeks back not had time to use it yet, but looks to be a bit of a game changer in my opinion. Another great vid mate, keep up the great work.
Thanks Jon, first review on the new Rupes machine👍 Not 100% convinced on cordless options. I tend to use my iBrid Nano corded. All my machines are Rupes & the DA system is fantastic. Noted you touched on the reduced work time, which is a massive time saver. A polishing set on a large german car is a game changer with the Rupes DA system. Interested to hear if you are slowly switching over to Rupes, or having a mix of Flex & Rupes?
I have a Flex PXE 80 brilliant tool using a 1 or 2 inch backing plate/pad however for 3 inch I think it is under powered. 10.8v just not packing enough punch. The Stand alone cordless 3 inch 18v Rupes looks ideal I will check it out….
Were you running max speed when using the PXE as a 3 inch? Personally I find the PXE hard to beat for the fact it eliminates the need for a mini and a 3 inch.
Great Vid Jon, How does this compare to the Flex Mini XFE 7-12 power wise? Also as its a Beta version, do you think they would revise it to maybe have a trigger lock of some sort and or do you think they will make any other changes, never seen a Beta version of a machine being sold in the wild so was a bit confused as to what that was all about, or is that just a Beta version of the kit?
@@ForensicDetailing Cheers, where I think the lack of trigger lock will cause an issue is say when you are trying to do a section on your roof that you can just about reach, you physically will have to have a hand on that trigger rather than have it locked so you can just hold the end of the machine. Small world issues though, must be a reason they chose not to have one.
With the battery end hanging so lowand almost as low as the polishing end, is there risk of hitting the panel if you aren't concentrating on it, or more accurately, concentrating too much on what the polishing pad is doing?

Looks like quite a nice machine to use, I'd definitely buy the corded adapter with the battery kit, to preserve the batteries, I'd use the mains adapter for general use and use a battery for the more technical areas when required. What is the weight of this? I like the position of how you would use this- your more over the pad bearing down rather than a short distance back from the pad area giving you more visibility over your work 🙂
Pointless. Batteries will degrade when just sitting there. Don’t be afraid of using the product. My oldest Makita batteries are over 10 years old and still work fine. I’ve had one battery fail completely.
Hi John I’m just starting out with my detailing business and want to buy the best gear once I’m currently using the rupes big foot lhr mark 3 and love it but need a 3 inch polisher to ad to the fleet would you prefer this lhr 75 to your flex pxe 80 ?? Flex is abit cheaper but I do like the rupes system as it just makes life abit easier with the pad choice and compounds.. would love your opinion on this matter thanks aj . You need to get you hands on them. The pxe is a nano really. So hlr75 lhr75 and flex 8 12 3 inch mini and in2detailing 3 inch mini da12. Are the 4 you need to pick between. I like cordless so hlr 75 works for .e
The Ibrid line has a lot to prove in the market. The OG Ibrid kit left ALOT to be desired from something so small yet so expensive. While I do believe there's a place for smaller purpose built polishers within the market, I believe it's more conducive to ones skills to learn how to use a 5 inch polisher in those tight areas. Being able to use a 5 inch at a hard angle while still cutting paint did more for my inner detailer than anything else. Just something to consider with how expensive everything is getting these days.
How do you place it down between use, most lay on their back but this would activate the trigger? If you lay it on it’s side the pad looks like it would touch?
I bought a Carbon Collective Nano Hex Polisher for doing intricate areas around my BMW bumper and it did a good job, but can also do the small jobs like a wing mirror. Can't see a need for the Rules, although it does look a nice piece of kit if you do a lot of car detailing.
Nano polisher vs this is a silly comparison. This is a full fat 3 inch cordless polisher. I have both and the nano polisher is only good for tight 1inch areas or as a rotary, the 2 inch pad just stalls for easily when put abit of pressure on the pad.
Hey Jon, great review. I'm liking the Rupes system of colour coding. My main tool is the Flex 3401. What are your thoughts on the Rupes pads and polishes on the Flex?

I am sorry but the price of that is ridiculous, for the cost of a power tool there is some markup on that. It needs a strip down to see exactly where the cost is.
Is the price ridiculous. The Chinese made DW 848 is 190£ tool only. This is Italian made. But you have options if u want to go cheap you have good choices. Rupes will not give you cheap.
Horrible design. Try to reach roof with one hand? LOL. I sold my ibrid and mini and currently have PXE80 and XFE 7-12, they are better than Rupes machines and this is from Rupes fanboy. All the bigger machines from Rupes are better than the Flex machines though. Btw you should test Shinemate EX620/21. Should be the most powerful da in the world. Mine will arrive soon, cant wait to test it.

yer at top whack it vibrates a fair bit but keep it closer to 3-4 for most polishing stuff.

No the pxe is a nano tool with 3 inch capability. This is a mini so this compares to the xfe 7 12 or lhr75r

I'm not sure about the beta thing m8. I think it has about the same grunt as the xff 7 12.

use the 12mm throw on the pxe. but no its not as powerfull as the hlr

Not on flat Dave but all da free spin will stall in tight curves but it's very powerful for cordless

It's a long answer m8. Flex foam is great. Rupes wool.is amazing and their foam is very very cheap price point.
The big question tho Jon, you own a Flex pxe 80, would you go buy this as well! Is it good enough you'd want both?

I’ve never found the PXE be a viable 3” tool. The 1” pad and rotary are awesome, however.

forced rotation is a way to go with 5/6 " plate,da are to weak
