It's the perfect spot for a railway. You've got such a nice variety of elements with interesting views and glimpses, woodland and buildings. Keep up the great work.
@@Elvinley Great and thanks very much for replying to my comment. I have a new video out now on the update of my layout plus a special remembrance too.. Hope you like and share.
I like the way you solved the problem of the water pipe on the reverse loop. That was a lot of slate to dig out of that area. Are you digging on the other end again?
Yes Amber I certainly will be but this time with mechanical help. A digger was used to move what you see on the video and is coming back to clear more earth away. He took away in less than an hour what would have taken me weeks. Obviously on the loop it was all done by hand and it was hard work! I didn't want to bury the pipe in case it got damaged and this way I can keep an eye on it for any leaks. I am in the process of making that area look nice and serve a purpose as hopefully a covered area to store stock.
Great railway, full of interest. Could you please tell me the radius of the loop round the engine shed.I have a narrow garden (7m wide)and am trying to work out how to do a loop, thank you
Thanks Phil. I am unsure of the exact radius but it is very tight. Prob somewhere between 10 and 15 ft. You could do it in the space you have with bogie locos and stock or small locos.
Thanks! There are some slight gradients but I keep an eye on it with a spirit level when I am laying the track. I use 6mm limestone chippings for ballast which I find easy to pack when levelling the track.
It would be very practical. I could adapt the wagon but as a flat wagon it's a good all-rounder and I don't mind having to make a few trips as I enjoy the drive! Might make a plonk-on-able open wagon top at some point.
All the hard work you have done has paid off ! , Looks great and with nice views from your railway
Thanks Graham! It's taken a year and a half but it's been fun!
Excellent. The loop really adds to the play value of the railway. Looking forward to future updates.
Cheers! There will be more soon!
Fantastic job...I really like this...everything that I would want in a railway of my own...keep up the great work!
Thanks very much John!
Great update and nice to see the railway extending !
Cheers!

Thanks John! It is a brilliant area. Glad I moved to Wales.
Brilliant work mate. I’ll have to come back to see it again
Hope so! Thanks a lot mate.
Wow, more fantastic work going on, some nice trackwork around the shed and the extension is looking good.
Cheers David! I have just uploaded a HD version of the newest update.
as a new subscriber I'm late to the party but you have a sweet little railway and I love the coach.
Thanks a lot Alan!
Wow nice update .Thanks for sharing.
No problem. Thanks for watching!

enjoying your railroad build thanks for sharing
Thanks very much Charles!
Congratulations on the looping of the depot site. Question - will tunnels be made on the excavation? Deep recess allows.
Thanks! In the process of creating a tunnel-ish thing at the moment.
Awesome railway! And when passing the Grand Canyon is the best! And what do you transport for practical use by the road?
You've been busy. How much further is it going to go?
On the other end of the line to the loop, hopefully about 20-30 ft.

I measured up and it is only 9ft radius. I thought it was a bit wider tbh!
Thank you. There's hope for mine yet.
Very flat rails.... what's the secret to digging so level? Congrats on the loop completion, BTW!

@@Elvinley Makes sense, Thanks! Someday, this will be me! Someday....
This is epic. Would an open wagon be helpful? Theres only so much spoil you can fit on a flat wagon I'd imagine...

@@Elvinley Thats a good idea- like Arthur Heywood's 15" convertible wagons
Wow, your a human JCB
Haha! A bit slower than a JCB though.
IT GOT ACTUAL CAPTIONING!!!
Oh glad it worked!
