Western standards of beauty currently dominate our world because we still live in the imperial model which continues to colonize and enslave. We resist white supremacy, "western" superiority and colonized ways of thinking and being by LOVING ourselves, generously, beautifully and joyfully in spite of any active or subliminal efforts to make us feel unworthy of love and life. If drones dropping bombs and a war economy are civilized then we are proudly not that. We are BEAUTIFUL BARBARIANS, selflessly savage and uncivilized. We eat with our hands. We smell like the spices we love to eat. We love the Earth tenderly as part of ourselves, not separate, not a thing to simply profit from. We love our hair, our noses, our skin and our own ways of thinking and being. We take back terms like barbarian, savage and uncivilized and wear them proudly as we honor our ancestors. We serve Creator by living in harmony with our selves recognizing that we are completely interconnected and in a state of interbeing, always.
    Love - always,
    Mona

    Lyrics:
    If they're civilized,
    I'd rather stay savage
    We them barbarians
    Beautiful and scaring them
    Earth shakin rattling
    Be wild out loud again
    We them barbarians
    Jasmine and Frankincense
    Feminine invading them
    Beautiful Barbarians
    Say it again
    Beautiful barbarian
    Say it again
    Beautiful barbarian
    A beast before, now, they
    wanna be wearin my skin
    We don’t let them win
    We beautiful barbarians
Lemme think back, I remember days
On these big lips, oh they used to hate
    Now the script flipped
    Oh, hayy!
    They gotta lipkit
    Kylie J
One hunnit, real talk, that’s what I’m on
    If I’m a savage, then you’re a fraud
    My chains off
    won’t be long
    see me glowing
    Look at God
So fresh and so eloquent, uh
I keep it humble and elegant, ah
    Your beauty standard irrelevant
    A revolution is so imminent
We keep it joyful and bedouin
I see my momma as evidence, ah
    Nobody needs your benevolence, wha??
    Feminist planet is imminent, ahh.
    We them barbarians
    Beautiful and scaring them
    Earth shakin rattling
    Be wild out loud again
    We them barbarians
    Jasmine and Frankincense
    Feminine invading them
    Beautiful Barbarians
    Say it again
    Beautiful barbarian
    Say it again
    Beautiful barbarian
    A beast before, now, they
    wanna be wearin my skin
    We don’t let them win
    We beautiful barbarians
Barbarian? that's how you really feel?
Like you didn't start war over oil fields?
    Opium, poppy seed.
    Money moves, Cardi B.
Tried to make me hate me for my hips and nose
Now they got imposters, on a spread in Vogue
    Not a single feature
    That they let us own
    Oh they packin fillers
    Styrofoam
    Ultralight beam metaphysical, huhn
    Power no longer invisible, huhn
Your beauty standard is cynical, oh
    A revolution is so critical
Power so deep and so mystical
They say the personal is so political, oh
    Women our future is winnable
    We gotta be indivisible
    This nose, decolonize
    This hair, decolonize
    This body, decolonize
    This mind, decolonized.

Im not muslim or arab. Im a native hawaiian christian but this message really resonates with me. Us too, we were also called savages and the United States supported the overthrowal of our monarchy and took away our suffrage because they said we weren't capable of governing ourselves. Thank you for talking about the colonial stigmas concerning the bodies of people of color. Something ive dealt with in my family being mixed and indigenous.

There should be no shame eating with hands/sticks
Washing hands before and after eating was sunnah for 1400 years in Islam.
Sitting while eating means being humble while eating as far as I know

It’s also hypocritical. Pizza, french fries, chicken fingers, sandwiches. There’s tons of western food that we eat with our hands. It only seems to become a problem when it’s food we don’t recognize or don’t associate with “finger food.” There’s absolutely zero shame in eating with fingers when the fingers are clean.

@Ruddy Bakewell what do you know about wars and it's roles !! You siad the right name it's called battles it's mean simply forces against forces, armies against armies weapons against weapons ok ? So when you win this war there's something called hostages you caught them and u can at wars roles exchange them or prison them or do whatever unless killing them as the humanity wise history don't told you that islam grabbed people from their homes and made them slaves they were soldiers who's you talke about i think islam literally the only religion didn't killed their hostages and kept their souls
by the way Israel at modern history killed their hostages after wars and forced them to dig there graves and killed them in there so what your opinion about that islam never did so you can search more to be fair

I often feel a dislike towards my own culture because of the western slandering towards it and I hate that I'm wired to think like that. Mona, what you're doing is honestly changing me, it's so empowering. How are you not brainwashed? Were you not told by your parents at an early age about Islam? Were you not taught Islam in school? Is your country not built on Islam? How is that not brainwashing whomever is born in that country, also just because a lot of people believe something is true, does not make it so. Just like everyone thought the earth was flat some hundred years ago or that the earth was at the center of the universe, it wasn't.

It's pretty clear that she's not talking only about North Africans from the lyrics and from the fact that she's Middle Eastern (Palestinian I think???). She's refering to any non-Western people that are called "barbaric" by racist people. That's why the title is not "B*rber" (which is an insult towards North African people).

    • @feinfein4444
      @feinfein4444 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Violet Manu is berber an insult? Really?

    • @waymilky442
      @waymilky442 6 ปีที่แล้ว +12

abd-er-RAH-man Yes it's an insult to North Africans. The word "barbar" itself has it's origins from Ancient Greece. Ancient Greeks used to call pretty much anyone not Greek "barbar" but then the word turned to mean "uncivilized/wild", which racist uses for many groups of people/cultures that are not Western. I'm not sure exactly how that turned into "B*rber" (used for North Afican/Amazigh people) though.

    • @feinfein4444
      @feinfein4444 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

when you said "berber" i know you referring to the tribes in north africa (not as an insult despite the fact that its derived from ancient greek) who are also called " Amazigh" but when you say " barbarian or barbaric" you dont have to be referring to north africa people because they mean any human who is savage and not civilized from any nation .. so i dont think berber is an insult and its just my opinion..

    • @feinfein4444
      @feinfein4444 6 ปีที่แล้ว

Alright berber is a slur given to north african , I dont support colonization or anything .. but it translates to " بربري " in arabic which is the same word writen in the begginig of the video so.. is she insulting north africa tribes or referring to them or she just means uncivilized?

    • @waymilky442
      @waymilky442 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

"B*rber" is written as "البربرية" or in plural (B*rbers) as "البربر". The words she uses and which you gave "بربري" translates to as "barbaric". So she's not using the term for North Africans from what I can see. Of course she's not insulting North Africans. She's reclaiming an insulting word that has been used for Middle Easterners, North Africans and many other non-Western people.

Lenny Black are you talking about Islam cause these is no where near of it
You don't have a full image
You have just what they want you to believe
Even these girl who's singing in these video that's not the righteous Islam

    • @aboodzenoon2993

Indeed, that's why hate is everywhere ..you need to stop listening to the media and your government lies..you don't judge Islam from Muslims for two reasons.
      1-they might not be practicing
2- they might be uneducated in the teaching of Islam, therefore, you wanna know Islam you go and read the Quran or the Sunnah books nothing else will tell you perfectly what is the true meaning of Islam but the source of Islam.
you might as well wanna check this video

If you would read it all, you would know it's not just Islam, it's religion in general

I don't hate Muslims, I hate the things I wrote there. I don't care what faith people have, practicing or not. I am ok with faith, but I hate organized religion. Nothing good ever came up from organized religion.
