Ty you have helped me reach the rational conclusion that removing the second eager swipe was very necessary as it obviously breaks how people can complete raids.
7:12 I was drenched in tears when he pulled out his sword and said _"It's Eager Edgin' Time"_ and then proceeded to solo Rhulk in less that 1 minute. Undoubtedly one of the skips of all time and most definitely one of the moments in Destiny history.
Didn't know that dmg knew this much about speedrunning, kinda awesome that we have such a talented and well informed community manager, really caring about the community and trying to understand all perspectives and playstyles this game brings.
I'm a professional D2 patrol area and vanguard ops (only normal strikes) player, and HOLY SH*T! I knew about the first 5 skips, but the Vow skip is just mind-blowing. Amazing video, thank you for so much for the upload. ❤
I was most surprised by gorgons my team had been trying to kill them all this whole time can’t believe you can eager past them all that’s craziness 🤯🤯🤯
the amount of time it must have taken to find all of these skips is insane! im still absolutely flabbergasted at how you were able to skip entire checkpoints of the raid using eager, which i didnt think was possible without completing the previous encounters! GG man!
If they don't want people going out of bounds don't put so many holes in their maps. Most skips can be done with heat rises and other swords. Titans can fly almost infinitely
I remember crafting and fully leveling the other half right before reset. As soon as I loaded into the rotating raid, it took us straight to the final boss cp, it skipped straight to final stand and the health bar vanished as soon as I pulled out my sword. I didn't even get to rally.
Let’s be honest the real reason they nerfed it is because it would of made the new grapple hook ability they just made for light fall useless. Now when light fall comes out everyone will be super happy about the new grapple hook.
to be fair tho, eager edge is gonna be used alot w/ grapple hooks, even without have double/triple swings, cus you can still jump, eager, swap weapons and then grapple anyway so i really dont know what bungie is even on
Well, I mean, Vow skips do exist But the nerf did virtually nothing to that skip. It was mostly just a bunch of consecutive well-skates, and it really didn't touch that The only thing it touched? Making it a little harder for casuals to use.
hey here is a tip on garden, if you jump instead of slide you will see that the screen will become dimer which makes you complete garden much faster. also I like the vow strat I will use that when i use enhanced eagers edge. Edit: oh yeah this is pre-nerf dang ):
you can't see every problem until someone finds it, like who wouldve known shatterskating to be so good there's no way a play tester would've been like, okay instead of using eager edge the normal way let's add a shatterdive with it

Now that Div is being nerfed, how about a video of all raid bosses where only Tether and Tractor (or other weaken effects) are used with only Taipans and Gjally + Palmyra (or other appropriate easily accessible heavy weapon options), without enhanced perks, just to prove that the Div nerf isn’t unreasonable for the “average player.”
y'know I was pretty upset when I heard of the eager edge nerf. At the time, I didn't agree with dmg that it was "broken" or "game breaking." However, after watching this video I am absolutely starstruck as to how blind I was. Eager edge was even more broken then I could have ever imagined. Bravo to you for opening my eyes.

THIS IS CRAZY!!!!! I'm someone who's anti cheesing in anyway, and I'm also tired of these speedrunners ruining my strike and patrol experience. These are the fundamentals of destiny and I hate to see them butchered by such a small part of the community. Fixing these skips is just another win for the developers, they should be proud! lol
I really hope that you and other speedrunners speaking out against this can convince Bungie to reconsider their stance on speedrunning. I myself dont compete, but now that I dont need gear and am bored with most activities, spending time to practice speed tech is the most fun part of the game. I spent dozens of hours in The Beyond practicing Icarus Sword skating for it to get removed. Then I spent hours trying to master double eager and eager into well skate. Outside of boss fights, I only ever run my (now useless) Enhanced EE Other Half, which I spent hours grinding for just for this purpose. Hell, the only content I even watch for this game anymore are new WRs, skips, or speed tech This patch note was so disappointing I lost any interest to log in this season and now I'm dreading the eventual Well/shatter skate nerf which might be the final straw for me Really appreciate that you are vocal about this topic
In all fairness the one thing I can think of is getting out of detainment by yourself on taniks but that’s literally it and I’ve not tested it but you can probably still do it post nerf
Not really skipping the whole encounter though, just finding a way around a mechanic. But there are a lot of other mechanic skips that have nothing to do with eager
I don't care if if it skips encounters. People try to find these skips because this game is too grindy and it's rewards are sometimes not worth it. I never did this exploit but i had no complaints if others used them.
I’m glad they nerfed it can’t tell you how many times I get players that don’t know how to jump on warlock or titan during the kingsfall raid, I feel like this nerf will push players to actually learn there character jumps more

I’ve been using the King’s Fall skip to get 40 pinnacles a week, absolutely crushed to see it go, but DMG knows best I suppose.
