If you can't hear the difference and make your decision based on this sound file rather than experiencing all the differences more thoroughly in person then don't buy the Genos. The drums alone make it worth the difference in price for me.
I had the tyros 2 later tyros 5 and now the Genos . Beside the price ,for me is the Genos much more pure sound and has more to offer then this video let hear. Maybe the price is what hold people for buying but its just what its worth to you. I love making music so its a big hobby for me so having a hobby cost money quite simple. Its free for each person to buy or not nobody force u ,always think the way whats good enough for u. I can’t afford myself a porsche but it duz not mean its a bad car. So happy family all and enjoy making music people thats what counts
Yamaha does incremental upgrades to each board generation. Skip a generation and there should be a substantial difference. Tyros 4 is improved over Tyros2 and a bit over Tyros 3. Genos we expect to be improved of Tyros 4. T4, T5, Genos each uses the exact same Tone Generators and Articulation technologies birthed on the Tyros 4. Tyros 1 had an XG Tone Generator [TG] w General Midi 1 & 2 Voices, Tyros 2 used the first AWM TG w no Super Articulation [SA]. T3 added the first [11] SA2 voices, T4, T5 and Genos use the AWM2 w AEM w SPW50 Tone Gens plus Articulators Mega Voice, SA, Sa2, AEM and WC. So T4, T5, Genos within themselves have some differences on some Instrument Voices. These last 3 boards have the Mega Stage Sound due to the same fondation technologies. The musician make the real difference in these three.
Will you please show the full demos without fading out? I really would like to hear everything at its full potential, and at its full length. I am making a comparison between different keyboards (including these keyboards). However, I can't do it with the demos fading out.
Great video, I'm getting a Genos soon and wanted a simple video showing some sound comparisons, I notice the Genos has cleaner sounds in some cases and more reverb (which I love). I would expect on the whole for the two to sound almost identical, my S970 has instruments that sound the same as their counterparts on the Tyros - For me the evolution will be to Genos rather than being a Tyros owner thinking of making the decision, if I had Tyros 5 I may not feel sufficient difference to make the upgrade yet.
On compare du très bon (aux critères actuels) avec du très très bon. Et ca n'est pas parce que l'échantillon de base semble identique entre les 2 machines, que l'on ne peut pas détecter la qualité des nouveaux effets appliqués sur ces mêmes échantillons, et apprécier la différence de finesse des résultats obtenus.
I think that about many voices these instruments are the same at all!!! On the organ sound( church and full) Tyros 5 sounds better, also. About the styles I've no elements enough... But I don't think that Genos be higher step up than Tyros.
Pour moi c est 2 super machines j ai un tyros 5 mais j ai pas encore essayé le genos en live.En son brut comme ça y a pas beaucoup de diferences en fait et tout depend comment vous aller traiter le son en sortie
Thanks for the vid. Many seem like the same samples just brighter and more processed on the Genos. Not good to bolster "all new samples". Certainly not worth a new keyboard especially since the PA4X is much cheaper!
GENOS CAN BE HAD for $4300- $4999. Shop around. If you have to spend an extra $1000 for the most polished String/Brass Ensemble voices with the most advanced Articulator Technologies... Do it if you can't live without them. Your keyboard should be your baby. The Korg edits deeper. We know that. It too is loved by many. Yet whatever level of editing is done on the Korg, its Oscillator engines will only bear so much polished fruit. For other reasons besides the best polished Yamaha voices, the editing on the Korg made be absolutely necessary for some owners. Yet for Live polished sound the Yamaha instrument voices are necessary for other owners. Which can you live without? If one gets the Korg to save $$$ and then keeps yearning for the Genos fruit...to late. Everything will change in 3-4 more years anyway. So know exactly what you are going to spend your time on the most. Deep Editing...lighter editing may be enuf... lots of Gigs? Bet the audience loves either board. Yet YOU have to listen to it. I intend to spend the money on the one that is the most blissful to me. "Then forget about it." Oh! I sold my T2. Nice board and very useful. My T4 surpasses its sound-stage [impressively] but only I can hear that bigger difference. Not my audience. Yamaha had it right starting even with the first T2 [AWM] tone Generator. The T4?? It is a Mega difference to me and the T5 and Genos are improvements over it and each other in some areas only [Sound Stage wise]. The audience is you everyday? Of all these boards I believe the less costlier and proven T4 has the [all around sweet spot] and the rest is up to my own playing skills.
I hate the CFX. The Kino strings don't sound any better to me. Gospel choir is still a joke. Most ofbthe sounds seen the same with only filter tweaks. Flamencobus definitely better on Genos though. OMG, they have finally improved the slap and acoustic basses!!!! Not an accordion guy, but Genos definitely does them better. Well, won't be selling T5 until Genos 2... hopefully

Los cambios deben SER SIEMPRE BIEN VISIBLES. Yo ESPeraba una Memoria DE 200 GB no de 58 Q es la de un teléfono celular moderno. Y así por el ESTILO. Muchos Truenos pero POCA LLUVIA.

به عنوان یک نوازنده که سالها با تایروس ها کار کرده ام و حالا جنوس دارم اعتراف می کنم که جنوس تفاوت چندانی با تایروس 5 ندارد، تفاوت صدا ها بسیار نامحسوس است و صداهای تایروس با اندکی افکت کاملا شبیه جنوس می شود. و حتی در برخی موارد صدای تایروس را به جنوس ترجیح می دهم. بگذریم از اینکه تایروس تولید ژاپن است و جنوس ها کاملا تولید چین هستند و روی آن با افتخار made in china درج شده است. جالب است که در سایت آمازون و برخی دیگر از سایتهای معتبر، قیمت تایروس 5 از جنوس بیشتر است.
Bollams” don’t bother” - 4 years of work ? It’s “ okay “ but I would/ NOT ‘ bother ‘ -No “new REAL LIVE sampled sounds as YET “ what so ever , I I’d have to Learn & find out ALL ! - Although “ Piano’s seem FAR “ better” , ( cheers to all key board enthusiasts ! .
Penso la differenza più notevole è fra il Concert Gran piano ed il CFX Concert Grand piano della Genos,quest'ultimo suona una meraviglia,sicuramente meglio di quello della Tyros.

Genos seems to have a much more refined overview if it's processing capabilities on board ... It's almost sophisticated

Qualité son j ai l impression qu ils se valent , juste les possibilités du Génos plus étendues et performantes ..normal....

Genos, too much money for the same. It only changes the touch screen and with more reverb in the trimmed sound. It's not spectacular.
New strings, new slap, new celo and new 12str Guitar - thet It's really an "innovative" keyboard!

The drums on the Genos are way better than on the PA4X (and even the PA5X, which is a thing now.)
