In this short mini-lesson I'll give you my best quick tips to set you up for success in learning my arrangement of Enya's "Watermark". Very helpful tutorial Anne! Loved that thumb slide and especially your added arrows for the lever changes. Very helpful!! THANK YOU!! Your calm and thorough approach is a winner.
@@annecrosbygaudetmusic to be honest, it was part B I was not getting it and then in part A, I was doing crossover, which did work and I could manage it, but the thumb slide made it much more doable
I already purchased the music and have been playing. But the hints (thumbslide) and other placements- I have already switched to your fingerings- so much easier Thanks. Beautiful! Arrangement
Thank you Anne ❤you are very gracious to give us a free tutorial 😮 I will certainly be looking into purchasing this piece in the near future along with perhaps some of your other pieces. Once again thank you for your generosity.
This was so helpful!! I have a pedal harp, so I sometimes shirk from lever changes and just play my pedal harp. I’m really enjoying getting some direction on lever changes!! Thanks so much, Anne!
So grateful! This is like a surprise gift! A private lesson for me as I have been working on this song the last week and knowing that it still needs some refinement. So many helpful tips! Hitting my hand on my forehead as to why I didn’t think to do a thumb slide instead of a crossover 😂. And loving the left hand tips since that is my problem area (and using your other video for fluent left hand chords to practice these smarter.) Now to also practice playing it as delicately and expressively as you do! Hope you also add more courses to your podia platform. I am planning to take Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas soon. You always explain things so perfectly!
@@annecrosbygaudetmusic It's a toss up between the fingering and the lever changes, but if I had to choose one, it would be lever changes. The timing of placing just before to quiet the change was new to me and immediately made a difference. It kept the flow instead of the slight hesitation. So simple, yet beyond me until now.
This was a perfect review for me! I think I can do this; maybe even the lever changes!😅 How can I make my E flat? Do I need to tune my harp to a different key?😊
Good question! That will work for the low E flat in the left hand, but you'll have to be creative with m.26 in the right hand. Personally, I would simply play the rolled chord on beat 1 and let it sustain for 3 beats, then you don't have to deal with the RH E flat. Make sense?

This was a perfect review for me! I think I can do this; maybe even the lever changes!😅 How can I make my E flat? Do I need to tune my harp to a different key?😊
Someone had the smart idea of using a D sharp instead of an E flat. Then you don't have to re-tune! Yay.
@@annecrosbygaudetmusic duly noted!😁
Can we use a D# rather than the E flat?
Good question! I also did the same because I didn’t want to retune my harp. Hope it’s ok. It still sounds beautiful!
