    Just wanted to say that I appreciate the attention to editing, I love your style of creation, and your general perspective/attitude. You're entertaining and I don't feel like you're putting on a front. =) from one electrical TH-camr to another - keep it up you're doing a great job. But on the real I just called your boss and told him you filmed his job and he said you're fired then mumbled something about "leaving a breaker off" and "everybody having to work at midnight?" I don't know...but you may want to start thinking about going more than 10 hours at the events business 🤣 hahaha have a great day ⚡️⚡️

      Haha thanks so much! Means a lot coming from you. I appreciate you taking the time to comment. I'm new at this, so still polishing my skills. But I am also trying to be authentic, so I am happy to hear you say that it seems real. Thanks again!

      @@LexElectric Just keep grinding, you'll do just fine. One of your followers actually emailed me recently and suggested we do an episode together, and after watching a few of your videos I agree =) Might help get some visibility to your channel. Feel free to reach out if you're interested - dustin@electricianu.com - Oh and one quick bit of advice to keep in mind, TH-cam favors consistency because they want your audience to be able to rely on you bringing them back into youtube often - so the algorithm will start promoting your videos to a wider audience if you post at consistent times over months (doesn't happen right away, takes time). If you ever have questions or want suggestions on the content side (or electrical side) I'm happy to help in any way I can. Take care

    Hello! Just found your channel and I find this video so cute! I’m 19 years old, first year apprentice soon to be second year hopefully haha I’m a woman myself and just started to look for fellow women in the trades making videos and such abt their job and I just wanted to sayyy hiii you’re doing great! You’ve definitely inspired me to branch out to other types of work in the field. So far I’ve only worked on multi-residential buildings and have only worked with one company in electrical. Not complaining, they’ve supplied lots of work and are an amazing company to work for. I’m also glad to find that you’re in Vancouver as I’m on Vancouver island :) so the area is pretty similar and such.. keep up the hard work and videos! They look really fun to make. I hope one day I build the skills to go from posting pictures on insta to starting my very own channel like yours!😁

      @@LexElectric ugh....not soon enough, possibly not til next year now. After all of y'alls feedback (thank you by the way) I've realized I can't just make one belt - every electrician wants a different thing. I don't want to just cram something together for the sake of making something, I want to make something rad. I have work pants I'm working on too, and it would be great to get feedback from a female spark on how they fit for different body types. I'm happy to send you a pair or two when they're ready so I can hear your feedback.

      @@ElectricianU yes it is an impossible task. The absolute biggest feedback every woman I've talked to is high waist, high waist, high waist. I would be delighted to be a product tester! I've struggled with work pants for years, and the best I've found so far is the Helly Hansen Chelsea (with tool belt pockets). But high waisted, shaped for a booty, and tighter at the ankle is my dream pant.

    Have you spent your whole apprenticeship with one company?
    Have you had options to choose what types of work you want to do/when to make a change, or does the JATC entirely decide that for you?

    • @LexElectric
      @LexElectric  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Good question. I started non union for my first year, then switched to union and been with my current company ever since. The union is pretty good about assessing where you're at and putting you in different types of jobs so you are always learning. I did Resi my first two years and was pretty vocal about wanting a change, and so now I am on this site, which is great!

So after joining to LU 6 and after finishing my apprenticeship and also after getting my license as a journeyman in CA, So my question is ( Can i go to work in LU 48 after getting my license in California or you will tell me take attitude test again then wait your interview then wait your rank on the list and then go to study Apprenticeship again because the electricity is different in each state! or least you will transfer some hours and make me study my apprenticeship in a few months? Orrr i can work immediately in LU 48 without anything or any exams!! i don't think it will be easy because what if 100 person from different LUs left them LUc and move directly to work in Lu 48!! ofc u will tell them we don't have enough jobs for you, right? I assume you're probably busy actually working and not filming but could be cool to get more into the electrical explanation of the work you're doing and any nuanced techniques with specific tools, etc.
    Unless the union tells you not to do that...then I guess I'm SOL.

      Hey how’s the Career going ? I feel like I’m old but I want to try it so bad ! I’m turning 27 soon so I’m wondering if you like it so far ?

    • @spaizy7196
      @spaizy7196 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Littlekitten_ so right now, I finished solar electrical and i’m doing commercial electrical. It’s not so much a trade school as it is a school that also happens to have trade school options featured, if that makes sense at all. It’s not an ACTUAL trade school, but it helps get into apprenticeships. May be completely different for an actual trade school but i’ll tell you some experiences so far
      At any rate, it’s definitely hard on the hands since I’m not used to it of course, but I’m enjoying it so far, already learned some core values that relate to myself like how I go about problem solving things. It’s a process but from what I experienced and heard from my teacher so far, I have a LOT to learn. I’m liking commercial more than solar, but the semester for commercial just started last week so we haven’t really gotten into much yet, from what the teacher tells me, it’s definitely something where if you invest yourself into it it’ll definitely pay off. I still have one more class to do (residential) though so who knows 😳 it’s a decent amount of math for solar, but it was definitely worth it getting an understanding of how dc and ac voltage or just electricity works in general, learned splicing, removing the insulation, after getting used to removing the insulation off of .20 gauge wire, we got given .18 gauge wire which completely tripped me up when i tried. But just like the .20 you get used to it and it becomes 2nd nature for the grip. If you want to know anything specific that i could maybe answer, I can try too ! Good luck on making that decision girll and don’t worry about being too old, you’re never too old to learn new things that can benefit you.

    I was livid when I went to get my first pair of work boots at marks!!! I found a decent pair that actually had my size, I’m a women’s 10, so that adds another layer of difficult… I had more trouble with work pants because I have a 34 inch inseam. Women’s pants are too short, so I get men’s pants, which do not fit right and dig into my stomach. If anyone knows where to get tall women’s work pants please let me know 🥲
